Works nice and does what it needs to do. The case has a heatsink, which is well thought out and access to put drives in or take them out you just slide it back or forward. I comes with a couple of screws to secure the drive, and a screwdriver as well in case you don't have on small enough.

No complaints, but there are 2 things I didn't realize when I got this. 1 is that it does not work with Windows XP. I got this to transfer files, so that's a bummer. Also, I am reusing an old 1TB WD Black from my PS5. I didn't realize how stuck-on the heatsink (lower) is, and it has to come off for this enclosure. I used a well-known Rubbing Alcohol and Fishing Line method, you can Google it. It works great in my iMac, but my old Dell doesn't see it.

Easy enough to install though getting the drive to sit properly on the little plastic shelves while reinstalling it was fiddly and meant taking it apart to realign it a few times. The biggest drawback is the status LED on the main board. HOLY HECK it's like they took the bulb out of the bat signal. The light is blue, faces up at the very corner of the housing and strobes like nuts whenever the drive is being accessed. I initially had the intention of having this on my desk next to me to appreciate how good it looks with the clear housing but yikes it's unbearable. I had to hide it behind a potplant and even then the wall behind it looks like a techno rave. Might look to put a dab of opaque hot glue onto the diode to soften the light a bit. It was nice that Orico includes in the kit everything needed to install the drive, including a USB-C to USB-C cable. It would be nice if these cable were softer though, as they are very chunky and stiff. Performance has been great and the heat sink does a good job, but I think it would be a good idea to get the version with the built-in fan because the heat sink can get extreeeemely hot when the drive is doing a lot of read/writes - too hot touch really, so not ideal for a portable drive if you plan on putting this back in your bag or pocket when you're done unless you can give it 5 minutes to cool down beforehand.

I love these cases. Easy to work with and their colors make them easy to identify.

So far so good used it to clone the old SSD, worked perfectly, good price, and I can still use my old SSD as an external when needed.

Poor quality enclosure almost caught my vehicle on fire. Enclosure got extremely hot. Had it in the center console, with my music collection on it, and it got so hot you couldn’t even touch it. I’m surprised it did not destroy the drive that was in it.

I bought this product mainly because I already had a Sabrent tool free m.2 enclosure ($30 at time of review) and I know that ORICO is another brand that makes enclosures that do what they say they'll do. I have owned a few HDD enclosures/adapters from both brands. I thought this one looked cool and was a bit cheaper but after going through the process of installing the drive and plugging it in, I have two main issues. -The usefulness of a drive activity LED in this application is dubious at best, and the LED they chose to use is way too bright. In a well lit room it's annoying and in a dark room it's blinding. -The installation process is also much more involved and less suitable for swapping different drives into the enclosure for the following reasons. The thermal pad solution is less elegant. You have to peel it off and reapply it to swap the SSD as apposed to it being permanently attached to the enclosure. The screw post installation is strange, more difficult, and allows the drive to move. The Sabrent product is much better on both accounts and doesn't have an LED. I should have just gotten another. One thing to note is that the cable included with the Sabrent enclosure is laughably short and a bit stiff. If you need a longer one, that may be an added cost. This enclosure will work for my application. I'm just gonna rip the LED off with a pair of pliers.
