This is the second of these I've purchased, not because the first failed, but to be able to pair it in a stereo set. Works great, easy to pair, and overall good fidelity. Not the flattest response, but does work well for the music I listen to (jazz, classical, early rock) And, plays loud, especially with two of them!

I snagged the refurb peoduct...absolutely no problems..system looks/performs perfectly.Very rugged but still puts out fine sound.Sounded like the high range wasn't great in a tiny room (10x10), but when used in a larger room the system starts to perform. Excellent bass and good treble. I would like more high range, but as you turn it up this actually improves!Also like the ability to broadly tune the sound profile using the mobile app.Love being able to rename the speaker on the bluetooth profile. No problems having other people link up to it.The only thing i find a bit annoying is that the volume steps are quite broad. Many times the perfect volune will be right inbetween two of the volume steps on the speaker. Sound profile can then be used to tine it a bit tho.I bought the silicone cover/handle; highly recommended.Hearing things on youtube videos that ixve never heard before.Not stunning stereo, as it is a single point system, but the apparent 'audio width' of the system is about 4 feet.Battery lasts for a long time. I haven't run it out yet.Primarily bought this model as it had an aux 3.5mm option. Works great.100% recommended.I will update this review after a year!

A lot of sound from such a small speaker.

I bought this to replace my old JVC RV-B55 CD. Huge, heavy, and the tape player & CD player no longer work. Radio works & it functions as a non-Blutooth speaker.I bought this reconditioned for the savings. The box had a label indicating as such. When I opened it, everything looked like it was packed and sealed new from the factory. No scratches or dust on the unit either.The sound quality is surprisingly full and clear. Maybe a touch midrangey, but not enough to be distracting.The 3.5mm audio cable input is very handy if I want to run the audio through the JBL. The ability to use it as a powerbank/phone charger is an added bonus.Overall I'm exceptionally pleased with my purchase. I'm also very impressed with the quality and how nice "Reconditioned" looked and performed.

Not a knock off and in perfect condition! The best speaker choice in my opinion!

Love the JBL very clean sound and loud. I use this as a center speaker in a 2.1 set up. It loud and strong, with base reinforcement. I bought into this with the expectations of the aux jack to play fm and am radio along with cd, tape and sd card or usb from an external device. Everything is sounding great and 100 percent highly recommend this for a portable sound system.

Just took delivery of a "renewed" Xtreme 3 speaker. It appears to be new. It had the manufacturer's box. It was sealed shut by those round pieces of clear tape. All the original packing was there. GREAT. Only problem was I noted that the price had gone from $199.95 to $188. Oh well.It connected immediately to my phone. I subscribe to Tidal high res streaming. It sounds GREAT through the Xtreme 3. One thing that both JBL and most reviewers MISS is that this speaker does produce a STEREO image. Sitting 3 feet away, I could hear both left and right channels. Bass response sounded great. I have heard some complain about the highs but in my brief test, they sounded good to me.As a reference point, my home sound system is based on Anthem electronics, Martin Logal ESLs in 5.2 and two ML Dynamo 1600X subs. My standards are relatively high. This speaker will not compare to the Anthem/ML but will sound great sitting on the edge of my hot tub.I wish that the world would produce something better than "appliance operators" to review audio products. Not emphasizing stereo is a real disservice to JBL and this product!
