I purchased and installed this as a Christmas gift for my sister. She has a 2017 Toyota 4Runner. The restrictive air intake that comes on these vehicles when stock causes a very evident pause when trying to pass another vehicle and doesn’t allow the proper air flow when accelerating. Took about 30 minutes to install with a screwdriver and small socket set. Looks WAY better under the hood. Upon first startup, the whistle of the air intake sounded really cool. Acceleration from a stop improved, but without a better exhaust and the size tires she has, didn’t expect much there. It’s acceleration when already moving that drastically improved. No more delay, it just does what you ask of it and sounds really good doing it! Mileage under normal driving should improve once she stops stomping on the gas to hear it whistle.

This intake adds a roar to your vehicle in the mid RPMs, sounds great! Overall install was easy, except one tube was quite difficult to get it in...had to use a ZIP tie to make sure it stays put... Which it did. The filter fell out once only, not a good thing but you'll notice it right away. I would recommend checking your engine bay before every drive, it only take 5 seconds anyways. Overall build quality is really nice, premium feel. You get a bit more torque, nothing crazy but you can feel it a bit more. My gas mileage also improved a slight bit.

I got on discount for my 2020 Trd off road. In my case I did customized the pipe with black gloss vinyl and added the Trd sticker on it to make it look nice. Pros: it does make the 4R growl. Cons: since filter is oiled it kept falling off until a video helped me to keep it on place. The way is designed since the heat shield it's straight bolt on to the car without any kind of rubber when you add stress to the engine it make the dash vibrate a little. Also my mpg somehow went down by 3 / 4 points. Usually running around 17mpg this time I was getting14. I checked the Maf sensor and I think it was t sitting properly on the base.
