Microtouch MAX Lighted Personal Trimmer

Very handy trimming tool. Anywhere you need it, it's the best small trimmer that performs well with no cuts whatsoever. One double A battery lasts a long time.

This is about the last item I ever expected to review, BUT ... it works great! I have tried scissors, manual rotating trimmer, battery rotating and straight trimmers, all with very little success. And prior battery units did not last. I have been using this model for over 2 years, and am impressed each time with how easy it is to use. The cutters cut well and are easy to maneuver. No nicking! Works on noses, ears, eyebrows, stray hairs. One note: with devices like this, I always use a lithium AA (or in some cases AAA) battery to prevent alkaline leaks. But if you do use alkalines, just be sure to do a quick monthly check.

It works pretty well as a nose hair trimmer. However, after a couple of uses the trimmer stops working. I realized you need to wipe the trimmer down with alcohol pad after every use otherwise the mucus from the nose jams the trimmer after it dries up. Imagine putting glue across the trimmer! The trimmer is not water-proof and the instructions had mentioned that it cannot be rinsed in water. Therefore, cleaning and maintaining it with alcohol wipes worked well so far! Had this for a few months. Let's see how it holds up overtime.

I had a previous one that I had purchased many years ago had it for so long and that one worked awesome This thing here feels like a kids toy it’s very lightweight and the battery isn’t even the issue you could have the most powerful AA battery on the market And this thing still wouldn’t do what it was purchased to do. I don’t know if the better 4-5 star reviews are factual reviews for this product. but I know the difference between good and bad from having the previous one for so many years and this one here is definitely something that was made very cheaply and poorly and the motor along With the cutting blades are the worst I’ve used Even after going over the same area over and over turning it moving it around twisting it angling it 6 different ways It’s still very difficult to trim down the hairs and in some cases it wouldn’t even trim the hair it would just push it down flat. So save your money look into something better if you’re looking to trim unwanted hairs from your facial orifices.

After only three uses, this "Max" version of the Microtouch trimmer stopped trimming. After two uses, the blade had slowed markedly but we were eventually able to get it moving again by applying lubricant. This was the second Microtouch trimmer that we purchased. The first was a "regular" model (not "Max") and it also failed after three uses - in fact, we bought the Max anticipating that it would perform more robustly than our first one had. Nope. We use our devices properly, and with care, on dry hair that is not thick, and with no exposure to water or dropping or any other sort of damage. Each was stored between uses with its clear plastic cap applied. We live in the continental US, with regular humidity, and so on. Batteries were fresh - we even tested them when we encountered these problems and they were at full charge. In summary, the items have been used under unremarkable and "regular" operating conditions. On the plus side, we enjoyed how the "nose" of the item is compact and easy to maneuver, and how the trimmer cuts well WHEN it is working. But those things don't do any good when the item stops working. So, in our experience, you might as well save some money and go for the cheaper Microtouch trimmer since, either way, you get only about three uses and then it conks out.

Very impressed by this little trimmer. Has lots of power and works better than some more expensive models.

I've had an earlier model which this updated version replaced. Love the new design, the attachments go on easier and more intuitively the the original model. A big change, the original model turned on/off by twisting the base -- which was problematic since if you turned it the wrong way or too far then the batter would fall out. The new model added a small switch to the side -- it still takes me a minute to find the switch (it could have been marked better or highlighted with a different color) -- but I like it more. Fairly quiet, and cuts the hairs right to the base.

Hubby loves it. Great quality for the price.

I have the original one of these which was very flimsy but this second one is much more robust, plus the start button is far better placed.
