Otamatone Classic Hello Kitty [Officially Licensed Sanrio] Japanese Character Electronic Musical Instrument Portable Synthesizer from Japan Maywa Denki for Children Kids and Adults Gift

We purchased two of these for our library to loan out to patrons without having used one before. I thought the quality was good, although the sound quality was so so (having never used one before). We put them into circulation and the children loved them. Eventually we had to buy more since the originals were used so much they eventually broke. Worth the price and very cute:)

We have been having so much fun making our own songs with this little instrument. •Press the bar to play single different notes • slide fingers to make a smooth transition to different notes • squeeze the cheeks to produce a “wah” effect • shake the bar to add vibrato We love it!

Daughter loved it

It was fun even though figuring out the right tone was a bit tricky. We enjoyed its cute, adorable moving mouth and its silly, buzzing, amusingly off-key voice. Hello Kitty Fan here!

I bought two Otamotone's for my kids Christmas. One was the original and worked perfectly and one was this Hello Kitty version. On Christmas Day, my son is joyfully playing with his and my daughter is perplexed because she thinks she's doing something wrong. It cuts in and out and was just wonky. I returned it and cross-shipped a new one. Lo and behold, the same problem with the second one. I used new batteries and had a original otamotone for a control.grouo so something is definitely u with the Hello Kitty version batch. I steered clear of it with attempt 3 and have ordered an original for her which has not arrived yet. The Otamotone itself is clever and adorable but this character versions seem to carry risks, I would stick with the original.

It's alright. The sensitivity on it isn't very good. You actually have to put a good amount of pressure in your fingers to get it to recognize you're touching it. Its also a bit crackle-y in sound. Not sure if we just got a bad one or if it's the general quality.

I was really excited about it, but right away we noticed that it worked intermittently. It seemed to have a power issue. Finally it went dead mid note and never worked again. Didn't matter what batteries we used, etc. What a waste. we kept it just because it's hello kitty.
