Design Toscano EU340125 Basking in Glory Little Girl Birds Outdoor Garden Statue, Large, Two Tone Stone Finish

This statue was quite pricey, but she is really beautiful. I painted her and the birds with acrylic paints and sprayed her with clear matte protectant. After reading many reviews, I was worried that the birds would fall off or her arms wouldn't attach easily. My experience was somewhat different. I think they attached the birds at the factory, because they were tight and I couldn't remove them. One arm went on perfectly, but the second one was a bit difficult. When the screw went in the piece that holds it tight began to disintegrate.The screw would not go in. I found a shorter screw and it tightened very well. I used strong loctite cement glue to attach her to a 12x12 paver stone to prevent damage from strong winds. She is a good size and a welcome addition to my "Secret Garden".

I purchased the large statue in March of 2017, and she has been outdoors, unprotected, ever since. She has held up very well. I read in some reviews that people were concerned about whether she would blow over in the wind or how well she would hold up outside, so I wanted to write this review to share my experience. The statue has never blown over in any wind or storm, and she looks pretty much the same as when she was new even after being outside year-round for 4 years. She has not been in direct sun, so I cannot say what impact that might have, and she has been in an area where there is a brick wall a few feet behind and to one side of her, so she has not been out in the middle of an area with no windbreaks. I think she is so cute. I really like her. Unfortunately, I recently had guys doing work on the outside of the house, and they managed to break one of her arms. I was so sad. I am back to buy a replacement and am so glad she is still in stock!UPDATE: The new one I received was not quite the same as the original one. The coloring on her hair was different, and there were slight differences in the statue itself such as the tilt of her head. It was just not as pretty; I did not like it (especially the hair, it was darker, almost seemed painted). I returned it. I would rather have my original one with the broken arm pieces glued together than have the new one.

This was purchased as a birthday gift for my mom and she loves it! She is a little light so we will be staking her down to the ground. Probably could also use chat rocks around he skirt tail to add weight. The arms come not attached and we had to use a different screw for one arm due to the hole drilled out too large for the provided screw head, otherwise this would be a 5 star review!

I’m was thrilled to get her this past October 2023 and would have given 5 stars but I procrastinated and didn’t leave a review. Now that she has turned green I can only give 3 stars. I just want to share so be aware that this is a possibility. The rabbit below her was purchased and set outside at the same time and he is still the original color of light gray like she was before turning green.

Very pretty and nicely detailed statue, It comes with screws to connect the two extended arms. I bought a stand from the same company to add height and a bit more stability. I applied liquid nails to the top base of stand and then placed statue on the base. Looks fancy and already have had a few compliments from neighbors.

I purchased this larger version of the statue through the Amazon Warehouse deals ("used" or returns) at a substantial discount. I like birds a lot, and feed them in the front garden, so thought this would be striking to include. It reminded me of my daughter (named Lark) when she was little. Unfortunately, the statue's arm was broken. We tried to repair it a bit ourselves, but she -- the stature -- kept falling over and causing more damage. It's really not very stable, and there aren't any easy ways that we could figure out to stabilize. No way of staking it. The best we could do was lean her against the garden wall a bit. Thought of burying the base a bit, but overall, she doesn't seem that tall. It just really didn't work out for us, so we decided to return her. Feel badly about it, but overall, I didn't find her face that striking. Something about her sunken eyes with no color in them struck me as oddly creepy. Maybe that says more about me than the statue. I think I paid around $70 with the warehouse purchase. The statue's new full price seems shocking to me, at around $165, and for me, not worth it. I do like her outstretched and open arms, however, with the invitation to all birds. Sweet. It would be nice if the base was more stable so she wouldn't fall over so easily. She is made of very breakable materials. Something so fragile is at the whim of nature's winds and little creatures passing by,

The vendor needs to box better the arms and birds were loose when arrived and several broken. Sent back and reordered, same thing. This time only one bird. I love the statue, so I will glue the tail back on!

Beautiful and is more than I expected. Very well done, packed incredibly well - HOWEVER unpack out of home - in a secluded place where all the styrofoam bits won't fly EVERYWHERE and STICK EVERYWHERE; an environmental/ animal consume concern as well/ family have a lot of birds, ducks, etc outside..... - could have been packed more thoughtfully about PACKING STUFF USED.

I purchased this to use in my Halloween cemetery. I received it, I was a little bit smaller than I had envisioned but that was ok. It’s still a very pretty piece. What I have issue with is how delicate this is for an outdoor statue. This was before it even left my home, this statue is not super sturdy and has been knocked over in my home twice. Once was on a carpeted floor while her arms were in place and the statue broke at the arms and the upper torso broke from the skirt area. I glued it and it was fine. Today it got tipped over again, arms not in, the head broke right off. This is simply getting tipped over, not dropped from any height and the thing keeps breaking apart. This is way too fragile to be used outdoors, in my opinion, at all. It can’t even survive a simple tip over. It’s not worth the cost which is too bad.

This looks great!It’s well made and stands quite high about 50 cm.It’s heavy so shouldn’t blow over.I’ve placed it in a spot that’s shaded from wind.The arms were not easy to put on but I persevered!It is a great item but you may need help putting it together...
