Van Ness ECOWARE Cat Dish, 8 Ounce, Assorted Colors, Pacific Blue, Single Dish (ECW20)

I don't write a lot of reviews at all, but this is my favorite cat dish, and I've tried many. It's pretty perfect. As a breeder, I have several cats to feed, and like to give each their own dish to make sure no one gets pushed out and everyone gets enough. These work great for that, they fit a 3 oz can perfectly (haven't tried to fit a 5.5 oz can, but I think it would fit fine) the non skid bottom keeps the cats from pushing them all over the floor (or under my breakfast bar ... I used to have to get down and dig out their collection of dishes twice a day before these), they're pretty light and easy to hand wash, and they've held up in the dishwasher after 6 months or more of use and still look like new (and I wash them twice daily, normal setting with 2 Cascade Platinum packs and rinse aid. Even use the heat dry setting and haven't had a problem with any of the 10 we use so far. Not sure why they don't hold up for some people, according to other reviews. Almost didn't buy them because of that, because I need dishwasher safe bowls, but bought 1 to test out for a while first, and glad I took a chance), and the shallow depth prevents whisker stress. I also like that they're eco friendly. They work great for young kittens too. I like them so much that I now put them in all of my new kitten packs when I send kitties to their homes. I wish it came in different colors, and was a little disappointed to see that they're in the 5% of products that Van Ness makes in China; but it's still a great little dish and the price is right, so I ultimately highly recommend this cat dish.

My cat Toby who is very spoiled , but very sweet🤯, and I love him so much I usually try to make him happy. When I first adopted him he would clean his bowl fully with whatever food I gave him. My husband had recently passed away suddenly and I was downsizing so I moved about two weeks after I adopted Toby. Suddenly, he stopped eating most of his food (he always has dry food all day). I tried one of the Gravy Lover’s and he ate around every piece of food and left the food. I then found the bisques and stews and he seems to love them. Now I found the Rachel Ray soup dinners (no thanks to Rachel Ray because she usually has ads for dog food only) and another brand of soups is cups. Toby really loves the chicken and butternut squash. This bowl fits these soups and Toby, who always lets me know when he is done by moving his bowl around and turning it over. He broke five of his ceramic bowls in the last couple of months). I bought the metal bowls with the silicone ring at the base and I happened upon these so I threw one right in my order because I figured, hell how good could it be for the price. This bowl, blew me away. It is sturdier with an entire silicone base and it will not move all around when he is eating. The metal bowls with the slim silicone ring at the bottom were (1) more expensive, (2) they said dishwasher safe and they tell you to remove the silicone ring before putting them in the dishwasher (3) the ring is not sturdy enough to withstand putting it on and off every time you wash it, which for me would be every day and this bowl has silicone on the bottom and up the sides about 1/3 of the way. At that price I am buying 3 more! I will come in for an update after Toby gives me HIS opinion of the bowl! It’s Christmas Eve right now with ten minutes til Christmas. I am going to tell him it is one of his Christmas presents and he will dine with his new dish. . Happy Holidays to all! I have purchased so many dishes in the five years since I adopted Toby. These bowls are a great for serving anything your serve your fur babies. They still look brand new. No scratches, wear and tear at all. They’re always hand washed because I enjoy hand-washing dishes. We purchased extra dishes because we didn’t know how well they would last. The silicone bottoms makes it great to use in the car and everywhere else because they don’t slide. They are made from environmentally friendly materials. Lightweight yet molded with good thickness and a shallow depth. When our dog grew over 10lbs, we switched to a deeper bowl for water. But she still eats from it because it will hold 3-5 ounces of food which is all she wants at one time. Overall this dish is simple, so well made and just works. I don’t know any cons for what it does. Our experience says it’s very durable. The price has increased but still offers good value. I hope pricing stays affordable and pet-owner friendly for the lowest incomes. It’s the best way to reduce abandoned pets and increase pet adoptions. Animals shouldn’t die just because they’re living. Ok back to the dishes - seriously a good buy.

These plastic dishes last a long, long time, are very easy to clean after feeding your kitty, and won't break the bank. The design is cute and colorful: for some reason I always give our calico food in an blue one and our spicy tortie food in an orange one. Do they know the difference? Probably not. But they DO know that the bowls are wide and flattish, with low rims, so their whiskers don't touch the edges (apparently a thing with some cats , at least). We have been using our first set for years, on a twice a day basis, and they still are in good shape. Bought a couple more as I like them so much. The bottom has a non-skid rubber portion, so the bowls don't clank or bang on the floor when the eatin' gets rowdy. They mostly nestle into each other, so they stack well in a cabinet or in a drawer. We've tried ceramic bowls, stainless bowls, and neither are any better. These little plastic bowls won't break if dropped, crack in a dishwasher, or clang like a tinpan when dropped like a stainless one. I am a repeat buyer of these, and highly recommend them.

I bought several a year ago for ferral cats that seem to hang around my property. I think the previous owner fed them and now I have befriended them (4 cats) and the neighbors cat as well. These dishes work perfectly, right size, don't slide around, easily cleaned, right price, and the cats readily eat from them. I just purchased 4 more to give a friends who feed strays. The dishes seem to be pretty durable also. I usually bring them in at night and rinse them out with hot water. Sometimes leave them full of water overnight if some wet food has dried in the dishes and rinse in the morning with hot water. Very happy with these dishes. My only wish for these would be more variety of colors. Aug 21, 2024. Was going to purchase some more, but these seem to have increased in price a bunch. Fortunately I saw them at Wally World still the same old price.

I got these dishes for my kittens as they transitioned from bottle feeding to eating wet food. The dish itself is the perfect height for small kittens to use- flat enough that they can access it but curved enough that it won't spill. The bottom has a silicone type material that prevents the bowl from sliding across the floor as they eat. Overall it's been easy to use and clean. My only critique is that after a few rounds in the dishwasher, the plastic is starting to age a bit. Typically I hand-wash these dishes, but a few times I've popped them into the top rack of the dishwasher, and I'm beginning to see some spotting in the plastic on the exterior. Will be hand-washing them from now on in order to keep them nice. I would definitely recommend these dishes, just be sure to hand-wash only.

Love these shallow dishes for my cats. Prevents whisker stress, which is a big deal. I have several, and have purchased several as gifts for friends. So cute. Very easy to clean. Very durable. I finally noticed that they're made of bamboo. Pretty cool.

My cat has problems with other dishes, either due to whisker stress, or the food is too deep in/pushed to the edges, etc. Whatever the reason, if he doesn't like the dish, he won't eat the food, which is aggravating. This dish has helped solve that, works perfect for kibble, and for wet food, some of his food still gets pushed to the edges, but that would happen with any dish probably (we're going to switch him from pate to gravy and chunks to solve this last final issue). Pros: -shallow design reduces or eliminates "whisker stress", but it still enough of an edge to keep food in (our cat's also a messy eater, spewing half-eaten kibbles everywhere, and this catches at least some of them) -wide enough for our cat's face but not too wide, but FYI he's an 18lb Maine Coone -sturdy, doesn't break if dropped -grip on the bottom stops most sliding -smooth, easy to clean surface, we hand wash it due to other mixed reviews on dishwashing -good value -cute, simple design IMHO (we got the blue one) Cons -might be too wide/big for a kitten or very small cat -unsure about dishwashing, we were scared to try due to other mixed reviews -grip on bottom still allows some sliding, I don't care but maybe some people would?

These are by far the best cat food bowls I have found. Low rim and shallow bowl helps cats minimise/avoid whisker fatigue (yes, I hadn't heard about this either until recently). Don't slide across the floor, don't break easily and the environmentally friendly material is just excellent.

Got 2 of these dishes. My cat and I love them. They function well for both wet and dry food and clean pretty easily. The non-slip base is a big plus. The bowls are a little on the small side but they do ok for my cat. Do not use these as water bowls though as they are too shallow and the water will spill out when the cat uses it.
