Clay Characters for Kids

The author taught how to form shapes to make animals, fantasy characters, and other charming pieces. She told a story as she taught the making of each piece about a dragon and his scales, and all of his friends trying to find him and help him. Absolutely delightful start and unique way to teach an art lesson.

Great book! This book is my favorite for learning step by step clay techniques. It gives you great ideas on material to use. Everything starts from a basic shape and this book clearly walks you through each shape and what you can make it into. Some items are a bit detailed and advanced but with the simple directions anything is possible with this book.

Very cute

My nephew is 10 and is now getting into molding clay and arts and crafts. he is quite talented. I got him this bok along with some clay and some clay tools, he was so excited. The book has lots of nice pictures and easy instructions. Thank you!

I am really impressed with this book. The instructions are easy to follow and it is great to be able to create something considering I have no artistic ability. My kids and grand kids have all enjoyed making these cute and fun characters. Can't say enough good stuff about the author Maureen Carlson.

This is a great book full of ideas and easy to read. Purchased for a 13 year old, however, the pictures will give younger artists lots of ideas! Happy with this purchase.

A simple guide for a crash course in clay figurine making. It was very inspirational and informative, yet so easy a child can understand it as well.

This wonderful book shows and explains exactly how to make little people (fairies,elf, goblins,etc) from polymer clay. The step by step instructions are easy to follow. How to roll and construct from balls of clay, the exact thickness of the clay, as well as how to lighten colours. This is a start to finish book for both children and adults. I'm an oldie and I love it . The wife says I'll never be to old to learn (and how right she is) Have fun!!

Libro que puede ser un buen tutorial, con muchas fotos y trabajos sobre todo para los peques. La pena es que viene escrito en inglés.

Dieses Büchlein möchte ich hier mal in den höchsten Tönen loben! Wer gerne mit Polymer Clay arbeitet und gerne Figuren formt, der wird von diesem Buch begeistert sein! Und wer dazu auch noch Kinder hat, umso mehr! Die Figürchen die in diesem Buch gezeigt werden sind wirklich alle herzallerliebst! Es gibt für jede eine ganz tolle, bebilderte Schritt-für-Schritt Anleitung, das Gelingen ist einfach garantiert! Und die Bilder sprechen so für sich, ich bin der Meinung das es sich auch jemand kaufen kann, der kein Wort englisch spricht! Die Figuren sind alle recht einfach gehalten - es ist ja auch ein Buch für Kinder. Aber ich finde es ist auch trotzdem toll für erwachsene, die gerne sehr originalgetreue Gesichter und Figuren formen wollen. Kann man sich doch über den einfachen Weg gut an das Gesichterformen herantasten und es perfektionieren. Das Formen der Fantasyfigürchen macht riesen Spass und Ihre Kinder werden Sie für die süssen Gnome, Elfen, Drachen und Tierchen lieben!

Pour enfants, pas seulement car le modelage demande quand même certaines notions. Mais avec un adulte c'est un apprentissage réussi. Les petites mains se mêlent et s'entremêlent pour au final carresser un petit animal... Plaisir partagé et réussite pour tous. Voilà une bonne et belle activité à renouveler. Un fond de musique en plus et l'imagination se développe pour un moment de sérénité....
