When Frannie notices her aunt's dog limping, she sees it as her big break to be a vet, so it's off to the veterinarian's office, where she can showcase her doggy-diagnostic skills. But in true Frannie form, all she can pull off is a doggy disaster . . . Review: Humorous - I purchased this book for my 7-year-old granddaughter. Although she has to read 15 minutes a day for her school's homework, it's been a struggle to get her to do so without complaining. But thanks to Frannie, she's happy to pick up the book and often reads well beyond the 15 minutes, laughing out loud at the silly made up words! She's already given me a list of the other Frankly Frannie books she wants to read next! Review: 10 year old approved. - My 10 year old really enjoys these books. She has read almost the entire series. They are also A.R. compatible and worth a decent amount of points if your child uses that program at their school.

Rutgers University Project on Economics and Children
Precocious Frannie Miller is back for another zany adventure during her quest to find the perfect office job. When her teacher remarked that Frannie had a way with animals, Frannie quickly decided to get herself a job as a veterinarian's assistant. Vets, of course, all had offices, so that criterion was satisfied. If only her parents would let her retire from school so she could work for Dr. Cats (a.k.a. Dr. Katz) for a while. Finding surprising resistance to that idea, Frannie stumbled upon the perfect opportunity to get some training. Her aunt's sheep dog appeared to have a limp, and Frannie decided he needed medical attention. But how would she get that enormous dog to the local vet? This sequel in the Frankly, Frannie series provides another humorous opportunity to talk economics with children, specifically about what it takes to find a job. With her penchant for trouble, it may take Frannie a while longer before her job search comes to fruition.
