404944 Heritage Hill Computer Credenza, Classic Cherry Finish, L: 59.25" x W: 20.47" x H: 30.24"

We have purchased many Sauder. products over our 58 years of marriage. Quite a few of them our children took with them when they got married! They have always been easily put together are very sturdy and an exceptional value for our money. We always took good care of them and they last forever. We purchased two of your Sauder Heritage Hill computer credenzas in the past couple of months. The first one we put in our home office...we liked it so much we bought another one for our family room...very handsome piece of furniture and very well made...thank you for all the years of beautiful furniture pieces. The Sauder Heritage Hill Collection Credenza Model 404944 is a good value. There are better credenzas - at much higher prices. But this one is well worth the cost. I bought it primarily because I needed a credenza exactly 60” wide, give or take a half inch, with traditional styling in wood or wood veneer. This credenza fit those requirements, and looks great. Before you buy, you should be aware that: (1) This Is Not Solid Wood. This is cherry wood veneer on manufactured wood/particle board. I have a solid wood desk that I sit on from time to time. I would not try that with this credenza. The particle board appears to be pretty solid for its intended uses, but time will tell. (2) Buy More Glue. You will run out of glue, quickly. Other reviews noted that, so I just picked up Gorilla Glue from the hardware store before the delivery. (3) There Were No Scratches. That surprised me. Some reviews stated that the pieces came with scratches and that it was shipped with a touch up marker to deal with the scratches. Mine did not come with a touch up marker, but it also had no scratches on the pieces. Perhaps, Sauder now packs the pieces differently to preclude scratches. (4) Sauder’s customer service is excellent. One of the wood pieces was broken - perhaps because I did not lay the unit flat on the floor when I opened it and pieces fell on each other. I called the number on the last page of the instruction booklet and they (a real human being!) immediately shipped out a replacement unit. It arrived two days later. If a piece is missing or broken, don’t worry about it. Just give them a call. Is Assembly Easy or Hard?. Some reviewers have said that assembly was hard, while others said it was easy. In a sense, both statements are true. In one sense, assembly was easy. The directions are clear and easy to follow. There are instructions and pictures and every part is numbered or lettered. There were exactly the number of items required. Nothing was missing. If you follow the instructions patiently, it is next to impossible to get lost. In another sense, assembly was difficult. The instructions are clear, but there are 22 steps, with subparts to each step. Do not think that you will assembly the unit in an evening. It took me three to four evenings to complete. It was not particularly difficult (and I am not particularly “handy”), but it did take some time. Minor Issues. (1) Each of the two drawer fronts to the large drawer is attached to the front of the large drawer by only two screws. The drawer handles pull above and parallel to the line formed by the two screws. Thus, every time you pull the large drawer open, you will be loosening the two screws until the drawer fronts develop some wobbling and you need to retighten the screws. This is not a big issue in the grand scheme of things, but a third screw attachment could have prevented this. (2) The credenza comes with some pretty useful cable management, including a grommet in the top of the credenza. I decided to replace the pass through grommet with a power outlet grommet. If you do that, you should be aware that most outlet grommets require 3” of clearance, while the desk has only 2” of clearance (depth from top of credenza). I have ordered a low profile power grommet that should work. Again, this is not a big issue. On the whole, the credenza looks wonderful, is functional, and is well worth the price in both money and the time spent putting it together.

The desk is very well made and came out beautiful. The assemble took quite a while. There are many parts but each is labelled. You will need to pack your patience to put this together. I split it into 2 days to make it easier. After getting the cabinet together, I left the drawers for day 2. You do need two people to flip the desk and such as it is heavy. All in all, I am very happy with the desk. The drawers work perfectly and they were lined up on the first try. I was surprised to see that it came with a power strip that mounts in the back of the center drawer. That was plus.

Desk is very nice and great looking. It took almost whole day to assemble, but finally did it. Tricky part is when two drawers are combined into one. I like the fact that it’s long and not too wide. It goes perfect with bed color which is cherry. It can fit two monitors and laptop. Very well made.

There is a lot to say here so imma make a pros and con list to make this easier Pros: - The desk is beautiful. Looks like the photo and like it’s almost solid wood - It’s steady and heavy. Comes in at 118 lb and when put together it’s not shaky or wobbly. I feel like it’ll stay just fine. - When everything arrived, it was packaged so well that I couldn’t open it. Nothing will ever get damaged in shipping. lol. Cons: - The instructions were hard to follow and were put in a weird order. - The wood scratches and splits easily. A screw got broken out when I tried to put the top on and you will not be able to build this without scratching it. I was being extra careful. - You will need at least one other person to put this together - This took days to put together I did this by hand with no drills and minimal help and I got it done in 3 days. Not a quick project and not one for a beginner. - They use both cam screws and dowels. Like just pick one. - They do not provide extra screws or glue. The glue they had was not enough for the entire desk and I had to use my own. There were just enough screws and dowels for the desk. So if you lost one or it was damaged, you’re screwed. (Pun intended). - Some of the hardware was slightly bent. - The drawers and doors were hard to adjust and I wasn’t able to get to drawers to slide without scraping the bottom a little. Overall I think that this desk is a bit over priced for the stress it caused. I like the look and functionality of it but I would not order it again. Not without extra screws and glue, easier instructions, and wood that is less prone to damage. If you do decide to buy this, build it with someone and please use a drill. Trust me.

Great product and looks very rich. VERY HEAVY and had to assist the delivery guy to get it off the truck with a dolly The original package came well packed , however the top panel was broken on one edge. (Looks like the carton was dropped on the edge due to weight). Thought I might have to ship back the entire HEAVY package. But, I Immediately contacted Sauder and they mailed a replacement part at no cost. (Very good feature I didn't know) and got it a week later. You must have patience because you have to assemble the entire desk. Parts are well marked, but it helped also to have a good sense of orientation as to how the product will look. Advise: I’ve put items like this together in the past and you must follow the sequence otherwise you’ll get frustrated. Everything came together well and the draws took a little adjustments to line up. Don’t let the miss’s or kids interrupt or keep asking are you done yet  when you’re done show it off ! Took a couple hours.

Looks great in terms of build and quality. There will be scratches during shipping, but touch up takes care of it. Luckily they include the touch up pen with the book case. I bought both book case and computer desk, both look great. One complaint is the time it takes to assemble, this one was luckily one evening affair, but the computer desk took me two evenings. Another complaint and reducing to 4 stars after spending a day working: The keyboard drawer pullout edge isn't polished, so resting your arms and typing on the keyboard is not as comfortable, thinking about a self adhesive brown felt etc will help.

Well-made and very sturdy. Can’t go wrong with Sauder furniture. Bought two bookshelves also and very heavy duty.

Overall this is a very solid good looking desk that when assembled has the look of a desk that would cost far more. My only complaint which I have experienced with other pieces of furniture made by Sauder is that their instruction manuals can be vague and rather confusing causing frustration in assembly. It would be nice instead of illustrations that are drawn they could perhaps provide illustrations in the instruction manual with actual photos and more detail. Other than this complaint overall it is a nice looking sturdy desk.

Solid and beautiful piece of furniture.

It’s a good desk but takes lots of time to assemble. They should have quick assembly parts. It had two big scratch marks on it and they don’t even give colour matching market with it.

I like the storage options. Great value, happy with the purchase
