Review: This book is extremely well done. As an individual trained in CBT, I can say that it is very accurate to the school and methodology. It explains things very well, in a way that is understandable to people who don't know a lot about the field, in fact I have quoted from it in therapy sessions to help explain concepts to clients! In addition it can be useful for working things out on your own, I've found the worksheets very helpful in dealing with some of my own anxious thoughts. An excellent book, and would highly recommend. Review: Very easy read full of extremely helpful tips and practical tasks to help you. Jargon buster to break down complex information so anyone can understand it.

I didn't realize until recently how pervasive "negative" thoughts can become. We're all more or less in need of learning to better deal with our thoughts and inner cycles to function better as a person in a social context, and in today's world there has never been a better time to take that first step. This book, as part of the "For Dummies" series is exactly the way I needed to be exposed to CBT. It handles a broad spectrum of topics which includes addictions, which isn't what I'm looking for personally, but the writers allows you to flip through to what you want. I'm reading the whole thing because it's also very fascinating to me as a curious person. This book has another book that goes with it, so I'm referring to both as a set, though the workbook has tools and exercises that I found pertinent and on point.
