BEST KITS BKCDK651 Dodge RAM 2006-2008 Double-Din Kit For Non-Navigation Factory Radios

Worked for my '08 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT V8 5.7L HEMI truck. Replaces my stock with a 7 in. double din. Trim covered up the semi-circles. This is an all-plastic set. If installed correctly, it looks nice. The pocket is a nice touch but is about half the volume of the factory one that I replaced. Glad to have it though- but it does not fit my iPhone 8. Be careful when installing as plastic tabs hold the trim in place and if the break when installing it will not sit flush. For the record, I did not break mine, but I can see how it could easily be done. The template worked great! I used a jigsaw to cut the plastic and it turned out perfect with the supplied template. I am so happy with the results! I must admit that I was stressed out about cutting my stock trim stereo panel to accommodate the double din trim, but it worked out! I'm glad I made the switch.TIP-Keep your stereo mounting screws for the reinstallation of new stereo plastic brackets. The screws provided do not fit the bracket mounts on my Dodge but they did fit the stereo to attach the brackets...just keep and reuse the 4 black stereo mount screws.

The template itself is worth almost the entire price by itself. At first I was only going to rate it 4 stars for two reasons:(1) The top tabs of the frame were offset a little from the slots in my dash piece, so I had to dremel-grind about an eighth inch off the side of each tab to get them to fit. Even then they didn't snap 100% into place, and in the finished install the top of the frame protrudes slightly downward. But it isn't noticeable at all, it seems firmly attached, and grinding the edges off the tabs took less than five minutes.(2) The pocket is smallish in every dimension. I understand why it isn't as tall as the original, but it doesn't need to be a whole inch narrower or so much shallower than the original.But even with those drawbacks, I can only rave about this dash kit. First, with the template snapped in place I had all the trimming done inside of 10 minutes, no muss, no fuss, it was that quick and simple. Second, the kit frame snapped easily enough into my dash frame. Third, even though there isn't nearly enough horizontal adjustment in the mounting brackets, (with the brackets slid all the way back) my Pioneer radio fit snugly on the first try. And with that I was practically flabbergasted and 100% pleased. And finally, the frame in this kit fit the front bezel of my Pioneer AVH-X390BS almost perfectly, and it looks great. Thus the 5 stars, even with the minor issues described above.I had returned two previous dash kits because of very poor fit for both my dash and the radio. No idea why it's so hard to get it right. But this "Best Kit" does get it right. It was a very pleasant surprise and a very adequate solution all around. I highly recommend it for any 2007-ish Dodge Ram owner who's looking for the easiest and fastest solution to making a 6.2-inch radio fit.

The templet worked great and my radio fit great inside of it. This product was well worth your money!

This conversion kit fit well in my 2007 Dodge Ram 1500. I didn't give it a 5 star rating because I had to modify the fit of this kit to my Double Din touch screen unit. I would give it 5 stars if there was some scoring on the inside so that the plastic was easier to remove to fit the stereo face. But with some careful cutting it can look really good. Otherwise the hardware and the fit in the dash was excellent.Shipping was fast and packaging was good.

This was actually pretty easy to install. I had to do some cutting of the original dashboard, which I knew I was going to have to do. The provided cutting template was VERY convenient. The only downside is that the cubby below the stereo is smaller than the original. Since I was going from a factory stereo to a double din, I expected the cubby to be shorter in height. But it is also shorter in depth, which doesn't make any sense to me. There is plenty of space in the dash for the cubby to be deeper. Not sure why they designed it this way.

I looked around for double din kit wouldn't make me sacrifice the little pocket directly under the factory radio. I was so happy to find this one for half of what my sound shop was going to charge me. Installation was easy and straight forward as I work on vehicles for a living. Once it came in the mail I was disappointed to find out that the pocket was too small to do anything useful for me. It won't hold my phone anymore, it can no longer hold an extra pack of cigarettes. And there is no lip built in so anything you do manage to get in there is likely to come right back out.It came out looking great. I'm happy with the fit and finish. I can deal with the pocket thing. I would buy it again

Talk about “keep it simple stupid”. Pop in the template, trim inside pieces, put the kit in, line, everything up, put everything back in place. Looks extremely clean like it came from the factory. Would definitely buy again!

Decent kit. The install was pretty easy with a vibrating trim tool doing the cutting for me. The template fit snug, and was self explanatory. Overall installed look looks nice. However, it would be better if it somehow matched the pattern of anything else in the interior of the Dodge truck. You go from black, to fake wood, to a small hex pattern, to random interior texture, to cloth.But thats a hot mess that is the fault of Dodge, not these guys.The side brackets work, but are not the best fit. I had to massage them to line up.
