CarPlay, all in for under $200 and blown away!
This is the first stereo that I've installed since I was a teenager. It cost me $12.95 for the wiring adaptor, for my car (2010 Chrysler Sebring Convertible) from my local Radio Shack, $6.97 for the mounting kit and $7.23 for the antenna adaptor (both Amazon). I bought the unit for $169.95 so I was still all in, for under $200. It took me about an hour to install (only because my dad can solder and knows how to read a voltage meter). I'm an Apple fan and this was the cheapest way to get CarPlay with the biggest screen. Instructions were good if you can read and research radio installation (for your car) on YouTube.Pros: CarPlay works fantastic and after installing a mounting dock for my phone (no more cable plug in) I just pop my phone into the dock and go ($19.95 Amazon. Ok, it's a bit over $200 if you add this gadget along with my requirements). I really, really, really dig having a real volume knob which I can also press to mute.Cons: It's bright at night which could be a hazard. There may be a way to hook it into my dimmer switch but I haven't figured it out (not sure if really possible). It has 3 settings for brightness. Bright, dimmer than bright but still bright and then off. You must go into their app to adjust this and off is best at night. Your stuff still plays but you gotta tap the screen (causing blindness because it defaults back to bright) to adjust what you are listening to etc. The headphone jack is also illuminated as is the USB port. I have found that setting these to red saves my night vision.Fun Fact: If you notice on the right side below the stereo down before you get to the climate controls (image #2) you can see where I mounted the microphone. I considered moving all the way 'round my front window to the rearview mirror (since it as enough cable length) but this location is out of the way and works great for everyone in the car.Advice: Soldering the wires is best and I'm sure crimpers would have worked just fine but I'm glad that dad was there to solder. Voltage reading was only needed due to my specific wireline hardness. There is no power/accessory (due to my type of car) which asks for a wire to be strung to the fuse box. This was easily overcome by wiring that wire into the lower cigarette lighter with runs off the same accessory fuse. Conclusion: I'm very satisfied with this system. Now I need a backup camera to install and string the parking break function so that I can watch a movie while parked with my lady.

It works, but it's cheap for a reason.
I don't have most of the issue that I see posted in these reviews, but I do have a few.The first one is minor, but annoying. I cannot set the time. Every other setting on this unit will save and I have had no problems with the memory being reset, but the time will not save no matter what I try. I enter the time in, and about 2 seconds after leaving the input screen it reverts back to 12:80AM... and why the heck does it go to 80? There are only 60 minutes in an hour. Like I said, minor issue, but annoying. The second issue is more serious. When I try to use any map program on my phone through this unit, the GPS has no idea where I am. It is constantly off anywhere from a few hundred feet to several miles. It is impossible to use this unit for navigation. Google Maps, Apple Maps, Waze, it doesn't matter. If I use the same apps through my phone without it connected to the unit, they work perfectly fine, no issues at all.All the other functions of this unit work perfectly fine for me. I use it for Apple Music and Spotify through CarPlay every day. I make and receive phone calls and send and receive text messages via bluetooth constantly. I listen to both AM and FM radio without trouble.I have reached out to support regarding both of these issues, and I have received no response after months of trying. If you want a cheap CarPlay head unit but don't care if you can actually use maps or get hold of customer support when you have an issue than I definitely recommend this unit. Otherwise, spend a few more bucks and get a Pioneer.

Awesome unit, but very few brightness levels, and has cut out on me
This radio is great value for the money, its one of the cheapest head units with apple carplay on the market. However there is very few brightness modes. There's no slider just a few modes and thats' it. Its kind of bright at night, but for the price i can handle that. Another small thing that the detail page missed is that it doesn't tell you the name and artist of the song currently playing on the radio. My previous Sony radio did but this one doesnt. The most annoying thing about this radio is that it sometimes it will just quit working on me for no apparent reason out of no where. It might just be my cars wiring, but it is very annoying. To fix it i just switch around some fuses in the fuse box and it suddenly starts working again. No blown fuse, I just swap them around and it starts working. Ive done this multiple times now and it fixes the issue everytime. Again, it might be my cars wiring so don't take this as all the radios fault.

CarPlay issues with music & navigation.
It’s too bright at night - I should have bought one that can connect to the car’s dash dimmer, this one does not.Sometimes the unit works like it should, but about half the time I connect to it, I have problems:Volume problems - it doesn’t do well with volume levels between navigation, music, & phone. I have to crank the volume for a call, but then the next time it rings for an incoming call, it is extremely loud. Navigation alerts and voice is way too low and distorts when turned up. These are all problems that other CarPlay devices don’t have in my experience.Sometimes the volume control quits working. The indicator on the screen goes up/down, but no change in volume. Car has to be shut off and restarted to fix.Sometimes music (pandora) shows that music is playing, but nothing can be heard.A lot of just random things don’t work and the car has to be shut off or the phone cable unplugged to reset.I’m returning this thing before I punch it out of the dash.UPDATE:After a month of ownership, I have removed for return. I found that every time I put a destination into Waze or Google maps, the volume locked at the current level. I found that I could use the search feature in the navigation app and hit the microphone icon, then cancel out - that sequywould fix the volume issue. Then, a new issue came up - Pandora app would stop at the end of every song instead of playing the he next... this unit just has too many bugs.Just installed a Boss BE62CP and it works MUCH better. Has none of the problems this unit does. Also, the Boss unit adds USB in the back, a dedicated HOME button, programmable screen dimming. The Boss unit is a bit more expensive, but way worth it overall.
