I bought this PCV elbow for my 1996 Jeep Cherokee with the inline 6, and it was a perfect replacement. It fit exactly like the original and seated cleanly into the rubber gasket (Dorman 42344 PCV Valve) with zero issues. This elbow has the proper controlled air port instead of the fully open style used on the opposite side of the valve cover. That matters lol. Especially on the 4.0 because the controlled air port helps the vacuum system function the way it’s supposed to on these engines. If you need a PCV elbow for an XJ or MJ, this is a solid, correct replacement that installs easily and works exactly as expected.

Fits perfectly well on my 2001 Jeep Wrangler 4.0l. I waited until the engine bay was hot from a long drive, and with some care and attention it came out - I used a screwdriver inserted into the elbow to get the leverage I needed (being very careful to not break it). The old one was badly gunked up, so i am guessing that having a clear airway can only be a positive thing. This product is a good quality replacement. I recommend it.
