The MidNite Solar Surge Protector Device (MNSPD) is a Type 1 device per UL1449 rev3. It is designed for both AC and DC systems and provides protection to service panels, load centers or where the SPD is directly connected to the electronic device requiring protection. Protection for 120 VAC and 120/240 VAC circuits. Each unit has several lights and a DC unit hooked up to a DC system will power all of the indicator lights and vice versa; an AC unit hooked up to an AC system will power all of the indicator lights. I replaced my SyCom surge protectors with this unit. **Q: Can i used this in line to neutral 220v i used it in philippines** A: So in the questions part of the sellers page it is suggested that both the red and black can be connected together with the 220 line and provide 220v protection, to be sure I would suggest contacting midnite solar. **Q: How to install this on a single phase 240v 60hz system here in asia, there is no l1 and l2, just line / n / ground. leave out the red or black?** A: Red is 120v black is 120v = 240 vac You will have to put them together to acheive 240vac.
