Good idea
The shields work well. They are much easier to use than aluminum foil.

We used this for Marie Callendar pot pies. The sides are exposed and this caused them to burn. The burn crept up under the cover so part of the top was burnt as well. Better off using aluminum foil unfortunately. Really wanted to be more environment friendly. 🙁

Doesn't prevent the crust from burning.
I had ordered a set of these before and they never arrived (I was issued a refund). After getting a new set, I think it was the kitchen gods trying to tell me, "No, don't buy them". I used one on a small chicken pot pie, and the edge that was "protected" was like charcoal- black and inedible. I tried baking another one a few days later and brushed the crust with milk before cooking. Same pitiful results.I would NOT recommend them for anything other than maybe a large plant trivet.

Convenient for convenience
I don’t home bake pies anymore in my senior years, but these mini pie crust collars are perfect for yummy Mrs Callender’s frozen chicken pies instead of making silly wasteful tinfoil collars. Gave two to my senior neighbor.

Loved how it fit over the pot pies...kept the pie crust from burning yet browned them..would definitely recommend and give as a gift

Perfect for 15oz Marie Callendar pot pies!
So much easier than wrapping the crust’s edges in aluminum foil.

Great for frozen pot pies
They just lay on top and work great for frozen pot pies. No more burning the edges. I love them
