I bought this headlamp for a specific purpose, but it's so good that I may not be able to use it! The adjustable band is very comfortable and it stays in place. * The elastic band is one inch wide. * The lamp unit is 2 1/2 in wide, 1 3/8 in deep, and 1 5/8 in high The light attaches to the band securely. The unit feels solid and well made, it isn't dinky. The light is BRIGHT! I have a tiny black dog with tiny black ears filled with lots of black hair. Cleaning her ears can be difficult since it's hard to see in there. I thought that if I wore a headlamp, I would be able to see in her ears and still have two hands free to clean them out. When I turned on this headlamp, I faced it to me and the light was so bright that a split second caused me to see spots for quite some time! There is no way I can risk doing that to my dog. This model, Vision HD, allows me to dim it but it doesn't dim it enough for my purpose. Even though I can't use it for my intended purpose, I still have to give this thing high marks because it's great! I used this headlamp in a pitch black house and was amazed by how well it worked. It also was fun to use outside. I'd like to order a couple more for my grandkids, but will choose a dimmer model so they don't blind each other. I plan to store this where I can reach it easily in case of a power outage.
