Birthday Cake Tasty Pastry

Wow. If you had told me I would pay $2.50 for a pop tart style pastry, I would have said you were crazy. I don't even like pop tarts lol. Then I was shopping while hungry, and craving snacks. Opted for the protein pastry, and fully prepared to be massively disappointed.Then I tried these.Holy mackerel.They're not just edible, like so much protein food. They're really, genuinely yummy.The price is still steep, but they're an excellent product. 5 stars

Want to quickly get in some protein without the typical protein shakes or protein bars? This product may be for you! I didn’t know these existed until recently and I must say, I like the fun colors and the taste! Obviously, not real pop tart but close enough! Filling, tasty, nice packaging and gets the job done. Sorta has the same texture of those classics sprinkle sugar cookies we see but without the immediate overwhelming feeling of downing a bunch of sugar. There is a slight teeny bit of chalky taste but that diminishes after the second bite .. 8/10!

I see all these great reviews and I am really astounded that anyone would say this tastes good. I was really hoping that I would like this. Especially as expensive as it is. It is really…just….disgusting. I couldn’t even take a full bite out of it. The packing is cute and inviting. And as a bariatric patient I loved the high protein grams it includes. In theory it sounds awesome but Sweet Jesus have they really wronged me with this deception of a healthy “treat”. When you open it you are smacked with an overwhelming overpowering smell of what I can only describe as yeasty, moldy play-doh. It is not pleasant in the least. To even take a bite out of it is hard to accomplish. Some people did recommend zapping it in the microwave so I did so for 15 seconds. Did that help? Naw. Now it just smells like yeasty, moldy WARM play-doh. I honestly cannot imagine they have repeat customers. I cannot return it because they have no return policy even though all the other ones are individually wrapped. So I cannot say I am too happy about that. Just BEWARE and try this product at your own risk. I pray you have a strong stomach and a poor sense of smell if you are looking to purchase this item optimistically.

The taste was ok for what you would expect in a low carb high protein packaged dessert. What becomes really difficult is the initial smell when you open the package- it's definitely not a "natural" smell. I would love to try a different flavor to see if it's just the one I got, but they're a little pricey to just wing it and hope it works out next time.

Okay, listen.These are mediocre, but they do the job. You get your protein and you can lie to your body and say "this is definitely a sugar filled pop tart"I warm mine up, maybe this creates the bad smell. They almost smell like plastic, but I can only assume it's the sugar substitute. You also get a weird aftertaste, again, this comes from some sugar substitutes. Maybe another flavor will reel me back in? Tune in next time.EDIT AND UPDATEThe company reached out and offered a full refund. This is very commendable. I will be using the refund to try another flavor.

Now granted, I've only eaten 1. And sometime with low carb items I get tired of them quickly. But I have to tell you these are good tasting. Sure they could have thicker frosting, and sure they could be cheaper. But for low carb anything, the taste is delicious! I was already a fan of the cinnamon ones, acknowledging that the frosting coating on the top looks nothing like the pictures and is definitely skimpy. But I've learned to accept that a low carb diet is simply more expensive (sugar is cheap!) and you can only expect so much.But I really didn't think these tasted chemically or leave an aftertaste, so I consider this a win! Good for a treat, for sure. And it will stop me from sneaking off my diet and having real pop tarts!

Delicious, amazing macro count, I can't stop eating them. Actually, save them for days when I have had a really good workout as they are a little pricey. I have tried 4 flavors of these and birthday cake is the best. SOOOOO yummy, it feels like I am cheating on my macros, but I am not! Strawberry is also really amazing. Don't love the red velvet at all. Cinnamon is good, just not my personal favorite.
