Johnstone's - Gloss Wood & Metal Paint - Brilliant White - 2.5L

Needs a really good stir, you can't just give the can a good shake or the paint stays very watery. I painted my interior doors and the paint went on really nice and has good coverage. I used a 2.5l can on 4 doors, both sides with 2 coats of paint. When painting with a roller the paint looks as though it has bubbles in it but once dry the paints nice and smooth. It's definitely quick drying within a hour i was able to do the 2nd coat. Theirs a slight odour to the paint but not as bad as some paints i've used in the past. Previously i've bought an extremely well known brand of paint that was mean't to be a brilliant white colour but once dried it was a mucky looking dull white colour. Johnstone's is definitely Brilliant white. I'm that happy with Johnstone’s - Quick Dry & Non Drip Gloss Paint for Wood & Metal - Brilliant White | Interior & Exterior paint and I've ordered more to do the rest of the paintwork in my home.

Brilliant gloss. No horrible smell or fumes. Easy to apply and drys fast.

Took a gamble when ordering this as I wasn't sure which paint to get and decided due to a few reviews. Arrived on time and fortunately hadn't spilled or been damaged due to it being in two boxes. The Amazon box was handed to me with the this way up arrow in pointing upwards which was right but when i opened that box the paint was in another box and on it's side as the this way up arrow on the inner box was pointing left. Not too impressed with that. Putting something in a box the right way up isn't rocket science. Anyway...I have painted one door and door frame with the gloss paint and am very impressed with it. It is thin and does drip a lot so do take care and put sheets or paper down etc. It covers well and is incredibly quick drying. It looks excellent once it is dry and looks like it is hard wearing. Am hoping there's going to be enough paint left to do the remaining 6 doors as it hardly used anything to paint the first door. A very good deal considering it's 2.5 litres for £19.00. Will definitely buy again if needed.

This paint covers well, is a good brilliant white and drys very quickly - the only thing that stopped me giving 5* is that you have to be careful that it doesn’t drip as it’s not ultra thick, but overall a good paint that I would buy again

I've bought so many of these that I wouldnt use another brand now. I find this Johnstone's white gloss to be really quick drying. I can paint a door and when I've finished, it's ready for the secondncoat. Same with the surrounding woodwork. It makes the job so much quicker. Regarding coverage this size of tin I was able to paint 2 doors, both sides with 2 coats and the surrounding door frames and skirting boards and I still have just under half a tin left. There is no odour like the old style oil based gloss has and it doesn't yellow. It doesnt seem to flake when its been on a while, its versatile and can be used in rooms where an oil based gloss would prevent sleep.

It was extremely thick, so much so that it was difficult to spread, and hard to apply without leaving brush marks, absolutely had to be watered down to apply and get a decent finish. Pretty much OK after that, except... Something I've never experienced in nearly 60 years of decorating rooms - bubbles! [see photo] Before and after thinning, they would suddenly appear in the nice smooth paint. They looked like fizzy drink bubbles, and they don't disappear on their own. Unsure if it has anything to do with it, but the tin of paint that arrived yesterday, July 24th, 26, had stamped on the lid an expiry date of 8th June, 26.
