I used a photo of my daughter and wow, it turned out amazing! I also used other photos, one of sunflowers, and one of cheetahs, that really turned out quite detailed and beautiful. I would love for Silhouette to start offering packages of more colors, and allow us to choose one color or a mix. It would really up my jewelry- and plaque-making game. Also, I've found you can cut these with a good, quality pair of scissors. Just go slowly, don't rush it, or you risk bending the corners. I've included a photo of the etching I did of my daughter (I added some embellishments to the piece) on the black sheet, which I then cut. The other photo is of the sunflowers and cheetahs I etched onto the pink sheet, before cutting. You can etch, then cut, several designs at once, if you like, using the Silhouette Studio software. Definitely get yourself the Silhouette Curio and these etching sheets.
