OK, but a bit Openflow heavy.
This book is OK but it's very OpenFlow heavy, there are many other types of SDN out there. Other types of SDN do get a mention but the majority of the detail concentrates on OpenFlow. What would have been nice is if this book contained less Openflow specific detail, and delved deeper into the other types of SDN to balance it out.Would also have been nice to add SD Access to the list and delved into the details of that SDN type too.

Good introduction to Software Defined Networks
This book is a good introduction to Software Defined Networks. It provides a broad view of the emerging market trend and provides real world examples from vendors and how they are trying to meet the requirements. You will walk away with an understanding of how existing vendors are using their current interfaces to try to meet the SDN specification for switches and routers. There is a good section on the open software reference designs and how companies are trying to bring compliant version to market. Over all a very good introduction. What this book isn't is a text on configuring and using a SDN. Look elsewhere for that!

Amazing book on SDN
I went into reading the book with very low expectations due to its large size. 5 hours later I came out of it wanting to read more. The authors have done an amazing job in terms of language and in terms of structure, sufficient technical information, simple explanations, connections b/w parts of the book, etc. This book is amazing, love it.
