Is webbing UV-resistant?

I have had two of these black lashing straps in constant use since May 2nd 2017, which is 1,064 days, and another two for 800+ days, holding my beehives down on top of their stands. They are outdoors, in partial shade in summer, mostly full sun in winter. The straps have faded almost white on the top portion where they go over the top of the beehives, and they have algae growing on the north side of the straps where they are in the shade. But, they are still very strong and UV does not appear to have weakened them. I get high winds so I cinch these down pretty tight every time I finish inspecting a beehive. I have been very pleased with their performance and have just ordered another set of six for more beehives. The current ones look like they still have at least a few more years in them.

Is there a way to combine these for a length larger than 12'

You could attach one to another but I'm not sure how strong they would be

I'm looking for something like this with this type of buckle, but much shorter. If these are nylon can they be cut to length and end melted?

Can I use these to tie luggage down to my roof rack for a 7 hour trip?

Shouldn’t be a problem. I use these to tie down my boat cover and they worked great.
