A practical guide on how to keep it simple, sweetie....
Julia Hobsbawm’s new book The Simplicity Principle is the perfect lockdown book. Drawing from nature and neuroscience, she gives us 6 practical steps to find ways to cut through the clutter and ‘infobesity’ that overcomplicates our lives. She recounts wonderful examples of simplicity in nature and blends them with anecdote and extraordinary human stories. She is clear that simplicity should not be confused with simplistic and, equally, that it is not about avoiding complexity. But tackling complexity can only be achieved by beginning with simplicity.Hobsbawm, social philosopher, writer and entrepreneur, uses her insight and knowledge to illustrate how putting simplicity at the heart of our lives will make us more productive. As we head towards whatever new “normal” emerges from post lockdown, the book’s central tenet of “reset” feels apposite.
