Maximum adjustment for a minimal price!
*Pro tips at the end of the review I recently purchased these mounts to be able to have more flexibility in aiming a few new Arlo cameras in the direction that I needed for maximum coverage. Let’s be honest, the factory (original equipment manufacturer, OEM) mounts that come with most new cameras, while very well-made and easy to mount and use do not exactly excel in the range of motion (ROM) department. For simple applications, most OEM mounts are great, but when you need flexibility or have a tricky angle, to Amazon we go. After searching the available mounting options for a set of new Arlo Essential cameras I got at Costco, I landed on these based on the clearance the camera had to move in the gimble-like mount giving an enormous number of options for directing the cameras at desired locations. I needed to mount the cameras on a flat surface and aim them at an extreme angle to the left and right, which the OEM mounts do not allow with their narrow ROM. These mounts gave me the flexibility I needed to aim precisely* where I wanted to and lock in place seemingly quite sturdily. While they do come preset with what looks like double-sided outdoor tape on the back of the mounting bases, I did not use this option and utilized mounting screws (of my own) as I wouldn’t personally trust my cameras to tape. Pros: - Super easy to install - Great price - Parts fit together well and move fairly fluidly if a little sloppy when loose Cons: - Provided screws are crumby and threads are not conducive for good purchase in wood (note: the screws and drywall mounts may* work ok in drywall, and while I did not mount on this surface, I would still use different hardware if I did) - Materials are typical mass-production items used in China such as pot metal and aluminum, s while rust and oxidization are unlikely in the short term, I wouldn’t drop it from any height as it may sustain damage easily - Adjusting can be a little tricky as the swivel adjustment has two settings tight and sloppy (see pro tips for my recommendations on adjustment tricks) *Pro tips: - remove the swivel with the attached camera mounting post from the base before attaching it to your camera - once you screw the camera mounting post into the back of your camera and tighten the counter locking nut hand tight, give it an additional slight turn with a small pair of plyers to lock it in and help prevent unwanted separation - leave both the swivel (wingnut) and rotational (knob) adjustments slightly loose when attempting to find the desired angle, then secure the swivel first and the rotational second as the rotational is much easier to lock.

Better adjustability than OEM
Makes a great security camera set up better with the help of these brackets. Better adjustability and coverage than the brackets that came with cameras, well made and sturdy

Better than Arlo mount
I bought a pair of these aftermarket cameras mounts for my Alro Essential cameras twice due to the design of the Arlo mounts, which I do not like. After the first pair, I decided that these are easier to install, easier to angle the camera, and adjusting it later if needed. The original Arlo camera mounts are not easy to adjust and are prone to coming loose after sever weather. These aftermarket ones hold their position well and are adaptable so you have more options for positioning the cameras. The quality is “decent” to good. Only time will tell how durable they really are. They’re not expensive so I probably will eventually order more to swap out more of the weak Arlo security camera mounts.

durability
these cameras are great. i was looking for inexpensive but good quality and these have not given me any issues. holds a charge for a while and the app lets you know when the battery is low. holds up in any kind of weather. we gets about 300" of snow per year and it has held up great outside.

Very adjustable
These are my preferred mounts when not using the magnetic ones. Very maneuverable.

Plastic, adequate, not great
These are OK for the fairly low price point. I have four cameras mounted on them. They work, and offer multiple mounting configurations. The pivot thumb screw is small and awkward for some mounting positions. The knurled screw is more accessible in most configurations, but hard to tighten enough for the mount to feel secure. The base is plastic. Although I might consider purchasing mounts of this configuration again, I might look for a sturdier, higher-quality product. This is the reason for the mediocre rating.

Just ok
One didn't work, but the company sent us another. They seem to do the job ok, but they do not charge when hooked up to the solar panels. Also you need to pay a monthly fee for them to work. That part I was unhappy about.
