Makes a great high school (or earlier?) graduation gift. For everyone who lost their Manual to Life, this is the replacement.

There are lots of good reviews of this book already, so I won't waste your time. Bottom line, I was pleasantly surprise how good the advice really is and it is a great read if you have a teen who is open to advice. I bought it new and wish now I had bought it 'used' to save some money. My kid read it in an hour and never picked it up again, because it's that kind of book - you read it once.

Condition: Brand new I bought this book when I bought "Just Who Will You Be" which I highly recommend. That book is small with very few pages as is this one. They both can be read in a hour. All high school seniors should read both before they graduate. I have given ithe latter as a gift to four senoirs so far. It is about who you strive to be as a person not what you achieve in your life. Maria Shriver can once again be seen on network TV on NBC. How great is that! Get both books. Best decision you could make and money well spent.

I gave this book to my daughter as we said our goodbyes and left to come home. I spent the week leading up to that adding my own thought to the stories and the lessons that Maria gave. It was a wonderful way for me to send our daughter off to college with just one more thing. I have bought another book to do the same thing for daughter #2 as she heads off this August as well. I even bought 2 extras to give to my girl friends who daughters are also graduating in June.

I have given this to my daughters upon graduation and just give it to a friends daughter, too. Every time I re-read it myself, and love the great advise and encouragement. Maria is one of my favorite people and authors as far as loving family advise and love is concerned.. A great gift for young peoples future.

Well written with terrific advice and insight for the journey from high school to college. She has touched on courage, weaknesses, strengths, believing in who you are and not minimize on your uniqueness. High School graduates should read this book....very short and to the point.
