HP Envy Pro 6458 All-in-One Color Inkjet Printer, Copy, Scan, Mobile fax, Instant Ink Ready, 5SE48A (Renewed)

I've had this printer for just about a year now and it's working great. I needed something simple that literally just prints and makes copies - nothing fancy. The ink life is great on it, and it's compact enough that it can sit out of the way in the corner. I've never had issues with the wifi connectivity, and I love that I can print from my phone as well. My only complaint is that you need to hold onto the user manual in order to make sense of any error codes. Because it's just lights instead of a screen, it can be a little hard to figure out what the issue is (ie, out of paper, print canceled, etc.) if something comes up.

I purchased this used not knowing. Then it had some kind of code on it that I couldn’t get it to work. Technical support walked me through it and reset it for me. It’s a great printer. Well worth the price!

To give a bit of perspective, I am a small business owner and this printer is more than capable for what I need it for . I print , copy,& scan about 100-300 items a month . I went to many big name stores wanting to sell the newest of the new. This HP 6458 is great it was made in late 2020 , for $101.00, I have a 4 year warranty with Amazon and a 1 year manufacture warranty. It only uses 2 ink cartridges( black & multicolor ). It also comes with 2 years of mobile fax service send only however there are so many free iOS and android apps that you can use to receive faxes and print them out . This item came basically perfect , maybe a cosmetic barely noticeable scratch or knick. The printing is actually pretty darn good, the colors hold up, it doesn’t look cheap , I WOULD suggest getting the paper recommended for the printer for best results with color if you like to print art, cards, or colored docs but I’m using old epson copy paper because I had it laying around and it’s been fine. The best thing us you will always find ink for this printer, ( I’m sure I am not the only one that bought $100+ worh of ink and it doesn’t work with your printer even though it states it does but once it’s opened your out of luck & that’s money down the drain) This won’t be a issue here, this ink is readily available, it’s in stores and on Amazon all day. This HP all-in-one is on par with the 2022 printers out now (again I looked at so many at staples and other stores that were $180-$500) I only gave it a 4 stars as I haven’t had to deal with customer support to rate as of yet but I haven’t needed it , it’s all self explanatory, fast set up , works on all my phones, laptops, desktops, I can even use it with media players like a firestick wirelessly using a app. For the price, and warranty, it’s 5 star for me thus far, not only the warranty from Amazon and the manufacturer you can’t beat the price , $100 flat for essentially a 5 year warranty (1year overlapping ) you get a 2 year fax machine service , scanner , copier & printer . This next version of this printer for 2021/2022 is in store for $230+ and you basically are forced to buy the ink service delivered to your door for another $50 a month to where you can buy this model that showed up perfect and will never have a issue getting the ink right from Amazon I can also get the same delivery service delivered to my door for a 1/4 of the in store price. This printer isn’t cheap , nor am I, I believe you get what you pay for, but I won’t overpay for the same product because it’s a year newer with all the same features. I highly recommend this product, it also has a very easy to use on machine display (oled lights) that are touch sensitive there is no 4:3 touchscreen, & it’s not needed honestly for the ease of use, heck as the manual is maybe a small page and a half long . It’s very straightforward . It’s only been a month but I don’t see any issues and it’s chugging along great , highly worth it . Don’t let negativity reviews turn you off , they may have just had a bad experience, I saw one bad review saying that the customer recommended to not plug this into a power strip as it affected the Wi-Fi connection, that said , tech isn’t for everyone, which I don’t mean poorly but that wouldn’t interfere with your Wi-Fi and more importantly always put this types of devices on surge protectors as it’s not built in to the power chord in this model so definitely plug this into a power strip if you have often atorms and blackout from lighting etc . Another tip to save your self time, for your initial set up of the printer use your laptop rather then a phone ,this way you download the drivers automatically and then the HP smart app, then get the HP smart app for your phones or tablets and add it to those devices after it’s set up. That’s about it , thus far it’s A-plus product , I haven’t powered it down for the month I’ve had it , the seller got it to me early , I can’t really complain, it’s a steal . Oh, 1 more tip , for those that use a VPN service as I do , you will have to disconnect your VPN on whatever device you are using with the printer for the time you need to use the HP all in one and then you can just turn your VPN back on. (If you don’t own or use a VPN service this does not apply to you ) Finally, this was just a good buy that made sense, I literally stood in a store for 2 hours determined to buy a product and they were all overpriced and the aggressive sales tactics , (which I get it, it’s their job) but the overpriced add ons, slick talking , pressuring as if I was buying a car not a printer was just crazy, so while I was in the store I pulled up this very printer on Amazon saw that it was refurbished and offered the warranty , all-in-one features , and extra fax services , I shook the employees hand and said thank you , walked out , bought this 15 minutes later and had it in 2 days . It’s a solid purchase , for $100 flat and all you get , including ink , you really can’t go wrong. It’s just a smart purchase. . Although it’s a long review , I hope this helps someone out to make a good decision.

1. The printer does not print in black any more. The colors are also coming out or different color completely. Return window is closed. 2. I like the look of the printer, so I might buy another one. Thinking seriously.

This was a "renewed" or refurbished printer. This printer worked great, wirelessly for about 3-4weeks. I had issues with it going off the network when it went to sleep mode. I was able to power off and back on and would reconnect. (If you have the product now and this is not happening, I encourage you to turn OFF the sleep feature, so you do not have issues in the future.) Now I am at the point where I can not get it to reconnect. I have tried the online HP support, chat, HP doctor, and the HP smart app and there is nothing that I can do to get it to connect to the wireless network. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted, and I can not connect wirelessly, I am able to print when connected to the USB, but this is inconvenient. If you are looking for a wireless printer, I do not recommend this printer, as it is impossible to get it to reconnect. I have spent 6 hours now, troubleshooting, and nothing is working. Update 9/2022: The printer no longer works, even when hooked up to USB. It just now flashes and has an error that the inks are jammed or that the inks can not move side to side. There is nothing obstructing the inks or the track that is goes on. Unfortunately, I did not buy the Amazon warranty, and it has be 90 days. I have troubleshooted with the HP printer app, but nothing is fixing the printer. It will likely end up in the trash. I am very disappointed because I researched this printer, and took a risk buying a "renewed" printer from amazon. Now I will never buy a "renewed" product or will buy the warranty with it.

this is my 3rd printer, I should have gone with HP to start! super easy set up , connected to WIFI in 5min. total set up took about 7min! by far the easiest ever. Print quality is fantastic. Not loud at all while printing, and prints pretty quick even on fine setting. 100% worth it.

Shipping: So I got my printer early it came in a few days early and the packaging looked fine. BUT it wasn’t in an Amazon box so BE AWARE it will be a box showing there’s a printer inside. Upon opening, it looks brand new, no issues except for when I was trying to set up the Bluetooth setting. BLUETOOTH SETUP: So the instructions that come with it looks straightforward but ends up being difficult because when I tried to set up Bluetooth it showed the name of the printer but said I needed a password to get in and connect to my Wi-Fi. There was no password provided to me on the instructions which was frustrating. Since I am used to holding down the power button on devices to reset them however, later on I decided to HOLD DOWN BOTH the Wi-Fi button and Power button located on the back (AT THE SAME TIME) WHILE THE PRINTER WAS TURNING ON and from there I was able to see on my Bluetooth settings that the set up option for the printer showed up. So please be aware that you might have trouble setting up the Bluetooth setting. The touchscreen buttons are OK. The only real buttons are on the back of the printer where the Wi-Fi button and the power button are. There is an option for you to just make it easy and use a cable (that’s not provided) to connect to your computer in order to print, but to use the Bluetooth wireless part I recommend playing with the buttons in the back by holding them down simultaneously or holding the one of them down at a time WHILE THE PRINTER IS TURNING ON so that the set up option will show up. From there you can input it to connect to your Wi-Fi. PIN#: The printer has a pin number that you need (also located on the back sticker and inside sticker where the cartridges go). This printer isn’t very quiet but it’s not too bad. There’s supposed to be a quiet setting that I’m going to check out soon. Other than that the app (once you get past setting up the Bluetooth part) is very easy to use, so make sure before you do anything you DOWNLOAD THE APP. I’m looking forward to not returning my printer (BECAUSE I WAS THIS CLOSE TO DOING SO LOL) and using it as intended. I didn’t know when I bought it that it was a refurbished or renewed printer but hopefully I will get my moneys worth out of it. If you decide to order it seems pretty good unless you just don’t want to deal with anything but good luck!

Love that every job I've printed (so far) has printed perfectly, even the jobs sent through the HP plugin app from my android phone. As to its longevity, hoping it will have a long life but since I've just purchased this, only time will tell. However, since I've owned HP printers in the past, I have high hopes and the only thing I'd hate on this printer is the shallow paper tray, which only allows for alowly 30 pages of paper...ridiculous! Other than that, it's the perfect printer for those on a budget that do not want to deal w/a monthly charge for "endless ink."

I purchased this for my daughter as a gift and when it came I was surprised it was in "refurbished" packaging. I unpacked it and set it up and it seemed fine but it stopped working shortly after my warrantee period was over. I wish I never bought this item on Amazon.

Parecería ser un buen priducto con michas bondades pero su eficiencia es nula, en menos de 2 meses ya llevamos 4 cartuchos gastados, imprimiendo alrededor de 100 hojas, es ridículo que tengamos que volver a comprar cartuchos de 1,500 pesos, cuánto tenemos que gastar para tener un equipo que nos de tranquilidad?
