Q: I have a landline. If I plugged this phone into the wall will it function for phone calls, just like my modern, corded, phone?

Hi, DON'T BUY IT! I had a nightmare with this phone and had to return it - 3 times & never got one that worked. Please, do not buy it, you'll thank me later for warning you against buying this phone.

Q: doue's it run off the wall outlite?

If the candlestick phone is equipped with the modern clip on the end of it's wire to plug into a wall outlet, then yes, the phone should work as well as any rotary dial. I've plugged this same phone into my hardwire wall outlet and a dial tone comes up and the phone works fine. The sound you hear will be different over this phone, but that's all part of the fun of owning such a piece.

Q: Can the ringer be turned off?

There is no switch to turn it off.
