Best Solar Pool Light I have found so far but it does have some issues.
This is the best solar pool light I have been able to find so far that is reasonably priced. Be aware however that they typically only last about 1 summer. I have had only one of them last more than a season so far. After a while the solar panel milks over and they don't charge well. Or they just stop working completely. They degrade very quickly if you let it flip over or get sucked into the skimmer often.I have had to order new ones every year. I like to have two of them. Two of them light up my 20' x 30' inground pool well enough. Not super bright but enough to give it a nice appearance and ambiance. Like I said, not many choices for solar pool lights that actually light up the pool. There are some newer options now but they are expensive. The other major issue I have with this is that it turns off after 4 hours or starts off bright and then goes dimmer. 4 hours is not long enough because it turns on early before it is completely dark. If you turn it back on it will stay on longer but then it will also go dim.I took apart one of them that died and replaced some of the guts so that I can have a floating solar light that stays on all night. If my solar landscaping lights can do this why can't the pool light do it. Poor design on that part of it. My experiment so far working pretty well. It is brighter and it stays on most of the night. Not sure how long it will last however because I had to use the built in solar panel since it is molded into the casing.

solar coating?
Mine came with a weird yellow powdery coating over the solar panel, cannot be easily removed. Why is it there and should it be removed? I posted as a question but moved to comments so I could post a photo. I'm sending it back and going to try again, I like the white light, it's like a street light underwater, the colored lights are useless. I'm not sure if the thing is turning on and off automatically as it's supposed to. When I look out at night, the other solar colored disco LED floaters are going strong, this thing is off. Given it's yellowing, I'm going to assume there's something wrong with it

Works good just wish it lasted longer.

Great value
These actually work terrific when they stay upright. Mine get inverted quite often. Give a few hours of bright light but our pool isn't full sun. We purchased 2 for our pool. Would buy again.

Just okay but still the best option
This light lasted one summer, it could be brighter and last longer but it is the best light of the many I have tried. We paid $1500 for a light to be installed in our pool, two bulbs from SR Smith have failed and they have yet to address the problem nearly a year later. The magnetic/suction cup underwater lights leak, and don’t turn on easily. The other floating lights we bought did not have a white light option and all of them leaked. While this light isn’t perfect, I am buying a new one because it was the one that worked out best last summer. Much better than SR Smith that won’t even respond to its many customers who have expensive lights that failed.
