This is an amazing skin essence that has no scent , feels great on the skin. Great under foundation as part of a skin routine

I use essences as the first step in my skincare routine (after washing) both AM and PM. Essences are somewhat similar to Western toners in that they can be used to balance the pH of your skin, ensure a clean 'slate' so to speak, or act as an extra hydrating/anti-acne/skin-soothing step (whatever your main goal is).I’ve been interested in trying some of I’m From’s products, mainly the Mugwort essence tbh. I was interested in this fig-based essence though as it has skin hydrating humectants and soothing ingredients like Panthenol and Allantoin and also a milder form of Salicylic Acid, Betaine Salicylate (which is twice as gentle), and this is great as a gentle exfoliant for acne-prone skin types. It also contains Hyaluronic acid to plump skin and Natural Moisturizing Factors (NMF) such as peptides and amino acids. One thing to note – it does have silicone in it (Diphenyl Dimethicone) which I don’t really like. I prefer to use anything with silicones as a last step in my routine as a light occlusive.I have oily and acne-prone skin and I use tretinoin and other actives in my routine so constant skin hydration and moisture are essential for keeping my skin barrier in good shape. I start with a clean fresh face and apply an essence, toner, and then moisturizer and sunscreen (AM). This Fig essence is ideal for my PM routine on days when I don’t use tretinoin (since this has a mild BHA in it). It feels more viscous than my other essences which have more of a watery consistency (I like Secret Key Starting Treatment Rose essence and Missha Time Revolution Artemisia Essence).I don’t notice much of a scent with the I’m From Fig essence but it feels silky, smooth, and slightly moisturizing on my skin. I always pour a small puddle into my left palm and apply to my face with the fingers on my right hand in a patting motion. I don’t use a cotton ball or pad to apply this essence as I consider it a waste of product.Overall, I will not purchase this once I run out. I really want to try the I’m From Mugwort essence though. I think this Fig essence is ideal for dry/normal type skin. For me, it’s too ‘thick’ as a first step essence. I love using essences in my skincare routine so I just had to try this Fig Essence by “I’m From”. It is basically like a toner and helps to nourish and replenish my skin, balance its pH and acts as a primer for my skincare. It allows my other products to penetrate my skin on a deeper level and I have really noticed a vast improvement in just a short time. It doesn’t make my skin feel oily, greasy or tacky and it dries very quickly so I can finish my skincare routine and apply makeup soon after application.It contains gentle BHA’s in the form of Betaine Salicylate which is an ester of Salicylic Acid that is derived from sugar beets. It is much more gentle and is very soothing so it doesn’t cause any burning or discomfort for me like regular Salicylic Acid. It also contains Hyaluronic Acid, Glycerin, Allantoin and Panthenol which all help to rehydrate, soothe and make my skin much smoother. The main ingredient, Fig Essence, which makes up 62.7% of this product, is loaded in vitamins and polyphenols and has antioxidant and anti-aging properties.My skin looks brighter, more even and both the tone and texture have greatly improved. I can honestly say that I have never noticed such an improvement in this short amount of time with any face product. I will DEFINITELY keep repurchasing this and recommend it to anyone who finds Salicylic Acid too strong, who is looking for a toner or who wants to take their skincare to the next level.

I had never heard of fig extract as something that could help skin. I looked for some information and it turns out there is some research that shows the fig extract helps skin.Here's a snippet: "Formulation decreased the skin melanin, trans-epidermal water loss and skin sebum significantly. Formulation increased the skin hydration significantly and insignificant effects on skin erythema. We concluded that a stable topical cream (w/o emulsion) containing F. carica fruit extract have effects on skin melanin, trans-epidermal loss, hydration values and sebum content and possibly could be used against for hyper pigmentation, acne, freckles and wrinkle."What do I think? My wife and I tried this, and she feels that it tones her skin really well and is a great base to apply her other skin care products.There were no negative reactions, the scent is very light, if any. Skin absorbs it nicely, no oily or residue feeling.Quite a nice product.

This is a good quality fig boosting essence. I have been using it by itself as a moisturizer with excellent results. It has a slight sweet scent that is not overpowering. It’s fairly lightweight and easy to evenly spread. It absorbs quickly and does not leave any residue behind. It leaves my skin with a radiant glow and extremely moisturized. It does an excellent job of reducing fine lines and protecting skin. I have acne prone skin and this did not cause me to have any outbreaks. The jar is large and I use very little at a time, it will probably last me several months of continued use. It’s a great product, I like it.
