I purchased these cold packs for an overseas trip I took in Feb/March. I was on a tour with 34 other people and there was a lot of walking. I have knee and ankle issues and wore braces while out and about, but I still needed to ice in the evenings. These ice packs did the trick. The cold didn't last as long as I'd like, but it was enough to help keep my knees and ankles from swelling and helped with the strain/pain. When I cracked the first one open, it took a lot of strength and I was worried I'd break it wide open - but it didn't and thus I figured out how to best get the cold activated. These were certainly worth the cost and I'll buy them again and use them when I travel the next time (especially if there will be a lot of walking).

These work great. They are a nice size and stays cold for a good amount of time. I always have hot and cold packs (especially cold packs) on hand with me all of the time because my two kids play sports and if they aren't getting injured, then someone around is. I purchased these ones to replace my last box and yes they have been sitting in the same place I put them under my sink since then. We just finished baseball season and I had only gone through half of the box. I went to see how many I had left in case we needed to order more and I had 2 good ones left. The 10 at the bottom of the box were already broken and not usable anymore. I could see one or maybe 2 from shipping, but 10 is a bit much. Other than not being happy that I have just about half a box of useless cold packs, I do recommend these. Just be sure to check your box when they arrive.

I've purchased two boxes of these now (wife with 3 broken ribs from an accident). The first box, the packs could be broken by folding every time. Never had an issue, but did have to squeeze hard and in the right spot to break the inside packs. The second box, I opened when my wife was in pain and needed a pack very quickly. I go to grab one of the new ones, squeeze it, and it wouldn't break. Could not get it to squeeze that little pack that's supposed to break inside. Tried a 2nd one, also would not break on folding! A 3rd one. Same! I was very frustrated because my wife was in pain, and in that moment, I threw 2 of the packs flat against the floor. I go to pick it up to toss in the trash, and THEY'RE BOTH COLD! Turns out that was just perfect to break the packs inside. Now, I throw em against the floor every time (make sure they land flat). You can relieve a little frustration stress without having to squeeze really hard! Definitely recommend because they are convenient, don't perspire like freezer ones, and, now with knowing I can toss them around to open them, are kinda fun!

I carry these for hot flash relief. They're great for this purpose, but I found that the cold temperature starts to wear off after about 5-10 minutes.

First I have to say right off—THESE WORK! And get surprisingly colder than I thought they would! THEY DO WORK! BUT.. there’s a reason they show a pained wrist on the package because you almost cause injury to your hands, wrists and fingers trying to struggle and fight with it to get it to work!! (I think it’s their demented inside joke frankly). Not remotely overstating the struggle.. needing for an injured knee so I worked out and was in need of ice and bout broke into tears of frustration after 10 minutes of unsuccessfully fighting to get the “liquid pouch” inside to burst AND NOT GETTING RELIEF TO MY KNEE! After wanting to throw it against the wall and send them back.. I finally cut one open to see just what the heck I was attempting to accomplish — which is why I attached the picture to show… because it DOES help to know. Now for others it may not be so hard but I’m a small woman with small hands but I’m a strong athlete so I gave it a workout.. no luck! I folded where they said numerous times with no luck. I was shocked the outer plastic didn’t rip (which is also a good thing.. it is strong). SO, for me, my trick is to hold the pouch straight up to get the ‘powder rocks” to the bottom.. tap or feel where the liquid package is, and then TWIST/WRING the entire middle in opposite directions (like wringing out a towel)… VOILA! COLD! ICE COLD! The cold doesn’t last all that long but it’s COLD and for more than 20 min. I’m keeping bc they do work but I don’t think I’ll buy them again. It does need a design improvement for sure!
