No, it does not just smear dust but rather traps the dust. It works quite well. Will not say that it would be as good as taking a damp cloth to wipe surfaces but I would say it is a good way of cleaning dust off of furniture on more frequent clean-ups.

Amazing

I don't know how I didn't discover this life changing product earlier. Dusting has always been a nightmare for me.. I just hate it. But now it's super easy and even relaxing to do. The price is very high but it's worth it.

Love this dusting kit good for getting rid of spider webs, it can reach into places that is hard for normal duster to reach and it picks up dogs hair. It is easy to carrying around and so light to used.
