'Prepare to Survive' without a flashlight.
Okay let me start by saying, when the product works it does work well, but after two months of living in the wilderness the flashlight almost no longer works. The motto of the company is 'prepare to survive', but if this was my only flashlight in an apocalyptic situation or any other situation that wouldn't allow me to buy another one I'd most likely be dead. It's rather unfortunate, because it's efficient for the fact that uses only one double A battery, the size is good because you can hold it in your mouth and have both hands-free to do anything, and when it does work it's quite bright. The only problem is that after 2 months of constant use my unit stops working. I'm probably just very unlucky. But again, it's the end of the world happened right now I'd have no chance at night time survival. Maybe it's due to the fact I used it every night for 2 months straight while also living outdoors the entire time, it was cheap to be fair, but at the same time if your survival is on the line this is a poor excuse for a flashlight in terms of longevity. I tried using brand new batteries, and it will work well for about 30 seconds then starts to dim down rapidly until it no longer produces light, switching to a new battery again gives me another 30 seconds of light, but then I have to switch back to the first battery. So to be able to use the product at all, I'm constantly swapping 2 batteries every 30 seconds.

Packed With Many Of The Features Found In Full Size Flashlights, But At A Budget Price.
I consider a tactical flashlight to be a very personal item. For me, it’s primary purpose is as a self defense tool. That is, when other everyday carry tools (EDC) are not available or an option. The way that it feels in my hand and how it rides in my pocket are crucial points when choosing a personal tactical flashlight. What I have also learned over the years is that what works great for me, may not be the best fit for others.I host self defense courses and workshops both is the U.S. as well as abroad. At times, part of the curriculum entails utilizing a tactical flashlight. The flashlights that I use in class are mainly unserviceable but serve their purpose for the training. These flashlights also vary in size as well as weight. When students begin using the flashlights for drilling purposes, I am always amazed by how much the tool affects their ability to deploy serious blows. Just by me altering or switching the size of their flashlight, the student’s complete biomechanics change… And for the better! So when it comes to advice on purchasing a tactical flashlight, I always recommend to get what feels right to you. Recently, I ordered a SWAT Tactical Flashlight from The Atomic Bear. Judging by the size and specs of this flashlight, I knew that it wasn’t something that I would use as EDC. But I did feel that it was perfect for some of my Natural Training Center members, as well as my wife. Most of the higher-end tactical flashlights are heavier and considerably bigger than this SWAT model. It is also much less powerful coming in at 400 lumens. Those specs do not work for me but are ideal for my wife. She does not want to spend considerable money on a tactical flashlight that I would use. She doesn’t want to spend money on expensive batteries as well as a charger for them. She doesn’t want 1000+ lumens and wants to carry it on her keychain. Well, this flashlight is certainly a good fit for her.Bottom Line:If you or someone you know is in need of a tactical flashlight, that is packed with plenty of cool features but comes in at under $7… This may be a great choice for you/them.Watch My Video review For More Detail.

Amazing little light!
I was skeptical at first glance, but because the price of the AtomicBear Tactical flashlight was only $6.99 I thought I would give it a try. I was amazed at the quality of this little flashlight. Kudos to the seller! To start with, this flashlight is packaged in a nice little box (nice enough for a display if you are reselling) and it comes with a life time warranty. This flashlight is easy to use and is about the length of 2 AA batteries and man does it ever pack a lot of light for it's size. I used just a regular rechargeable AA battery and that seemed to power it sufficiently enough to see about 100 yards at night while using the spot focus. The single switch has three modes: High power, low power, and strobe. Long pressing the switch will power the light on/off. Once the light is powered on simply press the power switch lightly to advance to the next lighting mode. I'm really happy with my purchase and plan to order another AtomicBear for my wife.

Didn’t work for me
The o-ring that closes the battery compartment should be fused to the bulb so that when you unscrew the top to add a battery, the bulb doesn't fall out. I don't think this thing is supposed to consist of three separate parts when disassembled: the body of the flashlight, the bulb and the bezel that you screw and unscrew. I think it's supposed to be 2: the bezel fused to the bulb which is fused to the o-ring and then the body. Mine came with the o-ring lodged in there tight and I tried a few things with sharp pointy tips to remove the o-ring to access the battery compartment with no success. It shouldn't be this difficult to add a single AA battery to an item. Waste of my time. Sending it back an hour after getting it. I'll try a different company and different product.

Doesn't work
I tried two different brand new AA batteries. With both batteries, the flashlight turned on for a few seconds while I was screwing the cap back on, then went dead. It seems there is a sweet spot of being partially unscrewed where there is a good connection with the battery. I also am not a fan of having to go to their website for instructions. A simple illustration that shows where to put the batteries would be much less of an inconvenience. I had hoped to use this while jogging in the early mornings, but I'll have to keep searching. This isn't a good product.
