Good book, but life isn't one size fits all
I am considered a positive person. And I have dealt with bad people (psychopaths) both at work and in a relationship. Most of the times, it is true, you can determine how you deal with what happens. Other times, yes, some people are different and like hurting other people in ways you don't recognize, thus can't really do much about it except move away when your gut tells you to. Perhaps a reminder that we do not control everything (if anything)

A good book but...
As with all Dale Carnegie books (at least the ones I've read!), the advice is excellent and presented in a well structured and entertaining way, but my only reservation about this book (and the reason it is 4 stars rather than 5), is that it is basically just a combination of chapters from two of his other books. If you have already bought 'How to win friends and influence people' and 'How to stop worrying and start living', then it's pointless buying this book as is just a collection of chapters from those two titles.'Seven Ways to Peace and Happiness' is extracted from 'How to stop worrying and start living' and 'Fundamental techniques in handling people', 'Ways to win people to your way of thinking' and 'Ways to change people without giving offense or arousing resentment', are extracted from 'How to win friends and influence people.'If you are considering buying a Dale Carnegie book for the first time, I would recommend that you buy the aforementioned two titles, rather than this title. The principles and advice contained in those books are excellent and have really opened my eyes to human relations. I've often kicked myself, reading through the book, when recognising texbooks errors I have made in the past!

Bought as a gift for someone, I could tell they'd been reading it as their complete attitude had changed from hating their job to motivated within a few weeks....magic!

Re-hash of How to make friends and influence people
This book is proof that people want to make more money from existing literature. How to win friends and influence people was a great read and had brilliant tips, this book basically uses the aforementioned to keep its momentum. Waste of money and time - plus the copy I was sent had someone elses handwriting all the way through it!
