should this be kept in the refrigerator? can it be frozen ? is it shelf stable?

We purchased the Citron in November to make mince meat pie. We had leftover and refrigerated it for a couple of months until my wife used the remainder to make cookies. I suspect you can freeze it as well. I thought it best to refrigerate it as opposed to leaving it in a cupboard. Dave
