Q: Does this let water drain fully? I had an aftermarket strainer that would trap water around the rim and it would get moldy and gross underneath.

It does drain fully, I haven’t noticed any water or mold around the rim. I have had it for about 2 months.

Q: What grade is the stainless steel of materials were used ? Is it either a 201 304 or 316 ? thanks

It is NOT 201 as that will rust. I don't know if it either 204 or 316, but both of those resist rust. Mine have not shown any rust

they are made from stainless steel. safe to use in washer.
