It is Mechanical watch, not by battery.

Does this watch hack, so when you pull out thr crown the time stops progressing?

When the stem is pulled out all the way the second hand keeps on going because the brain is Quartz but the windup mechanism is like the old railroad watches! Great time piece and accurate toone second per day.

Ticks normal speed, sounds fast but keeps perfect time. Can't hear it tick unless you hold it up to your ears. Takes about 10 windings for it to run a few days before winding it again.
