Are these waterproof? Do they come off in the shower if you avoid direct contact with shower spray?

I used them for cosmetic reasons, nose job aftercare. So I would always take them off when showering, but a few times I did wash my face with the strips on, and a little bit of water splashed on them, and the water did loosen the strip up a bit. So I would say they are not waterproof.

is this 18 strips or 18 packs of strips?

I would assume 18 total. I have a box that says 30 and there are 30 strips in the box.

Can these be cut in half for a shorter length?

Yes - I often cut them in half for small cuts and they work fine. If you use them on fingers, uou may need to use a bandaid over them to keep them from rolling up.
