After a few months of heavy use...
Features: 12 buttons on the side 2 top buttons Scroll wheel middle click wired/wireless mode configurable colors interchangeable hand grips rechargeable configuration program Delivery: The box it was in was crisp. With this product, there was a lot of work done in the packaging and it showed. Very clean presentation. It reminded me of when I got my Alienware laptop. The box was part of it, it was like a presentation just opening it. Got me very excited, and rightfully so. Set-up: The manual was simple. A product like this wasn't intended for people who are brand-new to the game and the manual was written as such. No CD meant I had to download the drivers from their website. Didn't mind but a CD would have been nice. Especially for those with no immediate internet access. Setup was almost plug and play. The only thing the downloads did was allow add a nice configuration program which allows you to really configure your mouse the way you want it. Macros, color, acceleration, DPI, everything. It's all-inclusive. I have to say, turning off Microsoft's mouse acceleration and really opened my eyes to accurate mouse clicks. Acceleration was made with the thought that mice would never go over 500 DPI, and turning it off added an incredible amount of sensitivity. It was something that took a LOT of getting used to. Break-in: I have to include this because when you do finally get everything set up the way you want it, you have to break-in yourself to the mouse (muscle memory for short). The side buttons take getting used to. Normally you would use your left hand for 1234567890-= but the mouse side buttons can copy either those OR the numpad. I like them to copy the keyboard rather than the numpad because it allows me to use SHIFT (!@#$%^&*()_+) with them which gives you 24 keybinds, which is insane. Turning off hardware acceleration and upping the DPI meant an insane amount of accuracy. It was incredible. It took a LOT of getting used to. You have to really re-learn the way you use a mouse, as even clicking will move the cursor. Once you learn it though, you really know what it means to have a steady hand. I have no idea my hands were so cumbersome until I started using this mouse. I'm an infantry Marine who scored high expert (330/350, with 25/25 on the 500 yard line, if you must know my score) on the rifle range, and this mouse still made me feel like I was shaky (and yes I've been to the sandbox, who cares. I'm not trying to brag, just trying to properly convey the quality of this mouse to anyone considering buying it). Numbers 1-6 are really the one's you'll be using the most. 7-12 are kind of awkward, but this is coming from someone who never plays with a console controller. I suspect if you have a lot of experience with your thumbs it'll be easier. The two buttons on top are gravy. Middle click and scroll well are pretty standard. Use: After getting used to it (took a week or two, had to build new muscle memory), I wondered why I never used this before. My games are so much smoother now. StarCraft 2, World of Warcraft (especially, with all the keybinds), Red Alert 3, Total War: Shogun 2, CoD: Black Ops, Portal 2, every game saw improvement. Either because of the accuracy or the buttons, it was a total rebirth to my gaming experience. Even everyday Windows use was WAY easier. Conclusion: This mouse was well worth the $100. Based on the quality of this product, I'm pretty sure I'm going to get myself a Razer Meglodon Headset as well. 7.1 Surround sound headset? Yes please. Bitches, Moans, Complaints (Marine joke): There are a few things i'd improve upon if I could. Very minor but still my suggestions. 1. Left/Right scroll wheel clicks - There's only the middle click on this mouse with the scroll wheel. I've seen some mice with a left/right click options for the scroll wheel. I've always found it really nifty. I really wist that this mouse would have it too. Granted, there are already so many on this mouse that it may be redundant, but again, just my wish. 2. Lit Razer logo - On the main body (where the palm rests) there's a razer logo, but it's not lit like the buttons and the scroll wheel is. If that could be lit like the rest of the mouse, it'd look 100% sexier than it already does. Also, the two top buttons SHOULD be lit. Especially considering all the gamers two game late-night. 3. Free scroll - I wish there was a switch to unlock the scroll wheel so that it free spins like some other mice do. The most useless of my wishes for this mouse, and may be pure novelty, but i'd still like to see it.

Really great gaming mouse
I must say, after reading almost every single 1 star review on here for this product, I was a little hesitant about purchasing this mouse. Well, for the month or so I've owned it, I haven't had any of the problems other users complained about. First, the software installed without a hitch and ran perfectly. I had some minor confusion setting the mouse itself up, but that was mostly my inexperience with using a mouse like this. Once it was registered and set up, the mouse worked like a dream! The software is great for switching between multiple games (I use it mostly for Guild Wars 2, World of Warcraft, and Starcraft 2), and it's even great for every day use; the speed with which the cursor travels across the screen is really a delight once you find a speed setting that is perfect for you (and there are lots of them). Second, it fits perfectly in my medium-to-a-bit-larger sized hand. And with several grip options included in the box, it can fit a wide variety of hand sizes as well. The side buttons are easy to reach, and once you get the concept of having side buttons on your mouse ingrained in your brain, they're a breeze to use, each one (except perhaps 10, 11, and 12) being comfortably reached by your thumb. The mouse wheel rolls like butter, and the left and right click buttons are both sensitive and responsive. If pressed, I would have to say the only awkward thing, button wise, are the two middle buttons under the wheel. They're in a spot that isn't terribly easy to reach, but if you put functions that are important but only rarely necessary on them, they aren't a hassle. Third, I like the customization of the mouse. You can literally change any button, even the mouse wheel scroll directions, to do something else. The color options are also really great; you can have it cycle through a spectrum of colors, or pick one solid color that suits you. Alright, now for the cons. I've done quite a few things with this mouse, and so far, I can really only come up with three things that detract from this mouse (but don't take away a star, if you notice). First, the battery life is... not as long as I would like it to be. It's certainly quite good for this type of mouse, but it could be a little short if you're the type to go on marathon gaming streaks. Second, and this could just be me, I purchased this mouse thinking it would have a small usb receiver that connected it to the computer; instead, it came with a long usb cable and charging stand, which counts as the wireless receiver. I was slightly disappointed, and I think people who use a laptop and don't have a place to put the receiver will be as well, but I've learned to live with it. The usb cable is especially durable, which is nice. And third, the mouse, at least for me, is a bit... unbalanced? Sometimes when I hold the mouse and left click on something, the mouse tips forward, causing the cursor to drag and not click where you wanted it to click. The act of pushing down on the button pushes the cursor up, missing things you're trying to click on, or highlighting something you didn't intend to highlight. However, readjusting your grip on the mouse quickly fixes the problem, so don't let that throw you off. All in all, this is an amazing mouse, and if you're looking for a great piece of hardware to add to your gaming experience, look no further than this epic machine.

Razor Naga Epic, works for Mac.
This mouse is simply amazing. At first I thought this mouse would be very bulky and heavy. It is actually very light and comfortable to use. I like how you can use it wired or wireless. The only downside about this mouse is how it is not a Bluetooth style. To use this mouse you have to have the wire plugged in along with the charger. It is a little bit inconvenient when moving or traveling but if you just play on a desk it is not bothersome at all. This mouse works right out of the box, plug in and play. I play on a MacBook pro and have had no problems. I use it for world of Warcraft. At first, the shift commands did not work, which was easily resolved by going to the razor naga website and installing the driver. the description says it only works for windows, but iit does in fact work for Mac. I wish somebody would have said this sooner because I read that and almost bought a different mouse thinking it did not work for Mac. Thankfully my friend informed me it did in fact work for both Mac and Windows. Overall, I really like this mouse and it is surprisingly very easy to get used to. 17 buttons, you cannot get better than that:) This mouse is the right choice for gamers! Edit: id also like to include I'm a small girl with very small hands and this mouse is still perfect for me. I feared it would be too big for me but it's just right. I have no problems pressing any of the buttons.

Close to optimal.
This mouse is a powerful and flexible tool, for gaming as well as for overall PC productivity. Macro programmability is fairly flexible, though I wanted to do a few things I could not, such as assign different macros to a single mouse button in conjunction with different modifier keys. Razer makes a lot of the addon programs they offer for free to work with MMOs, but they really only provide applications for a couple games. Mostly only World of Warcraft. Initially, I thought the row of the keypad closest to the user (the one containing keypad buttons 10, 11, and 12)would prove too unwieldy to use effectively, especially in an MMO when under focus-fire stress in PVP. I was partially right--the keys aren't too hard to reach once you accustom yourself to the keypad setup, but it's still easy enough for your thumb to get lost and mistake 7 for 12. In general, though, WAY faster reaction time than using my previous setup of hotkeys clustered clumsily around the WASD movement center. All my deaths, once accustomed to the new interface method, were due to my poor judgement or lack of good gear, not the mouse. With regard to desktop use, there's one major issue. The pointer occasionally locks up, and the mouse refuses any input. When this happens, I have to yank the USB and reconnect it to free up my mouse. It's a quick fix, but it's annoying and it really shouldn't happen, especially in such an expensive product. -1 star. So far, this has only ever occurred on the desktop, not in-game. So far. My other gripe is the pair of buttons placed below the mousewheel. Horrible placement, especially if you're playing a fast-faced game. You have to either shift your grip or give a very exaggerated curl of your index or middle finger to reach either of them, which costs you dexterity and stability on your mouse hand. These buttons are worthless for MMO combat and just about anything else, and I ignore them completely. It's effectively a 15-button mouse, not 17. Why they changed the design from the original Naga is beyond me. The last two buttons used to be placed right next to the left-click in easy reach. Excellent setup. I would have gone with the regular Naga instead of the Naga Epic, if only the regular Naga functioned wirelessly. -1 star for dumb button placement on 16 and 17. As to the wireless functionality, it's excellent. I've never had any lag or clipping I could notice. The battery life is only moderate, but I set the mouse in the cradle when not in use, and I've only had to use it cabled twice in the two months I've owned it. Which you don't want to do. The cable has enough tension, and the mouse is light enough, that it will likely throw you off some. The cable itself is excellent. The braided cord is durable and does not loop or tangle easily. All in all, an excellent product, and if you want the leg up on online competitors, I recommend the Naga. If they fixed the misplaced buttons and updated to take care of the freezing issue, it would be a 5. Future versions of the Naga might just balance out perfectly.

The Mouse is Good, Synapse is Bad
I have come to love my Razer Naga Elite only because I found another option to the Synapse driver. The Good: I bought the Naga Elite to play Guild Wars 2. I am big into PvP and after playing all three betas I realized that there is so much on the move combat in the game that I needed an alternative to onscreen clicking. As a side note, I also play Lord of the Rings Online and I found that the mouse is a great asset in that game as well. The Naga Elite arrived in good condition and on time. Kudos to Amazon. They have yet let me down. The packaging was like opening an Egyptian tomb. It was well crafted and complex. It was almost an adventure in itself trying to find all of the hidden compartments. So that was cool. After I found my way to the deepest recesses of the box I read the quick guide and plugged the mouse in... First, I want to comment on the 12 side buttons. They are awesome! Which is essential because they are primary feature which enticed me to purchase this particular mouse. They are big, well laid out, and functional. For reference I have medium sized hands and I have no trouble using all 12. The front 9 are more on the fly. The back 3 are harder to reach, but I still use them in combat. To be honest I'm normally not that skillful at such things. In fact I would rate myself as clumsy. Be patient! When I first started using the mouse I had a lot of trouble getting the feel for them. In fact after the first 3 hours of play I considered sending it back. I was sick to my stomach that I had spent so much on a product I couldn't use. But, I played on and after few more hours of game play the buttons began to become second nature. There was this one particular moment after an overwhelming victory that I said to myself, "Whew! I didn't spend a lot of money on a mouse I can't use." Then my second reaction was, "Sweet Mamma!" I realized that I was zooming around clicking off skills like I knew what I was doing. I was getting kills, gaining respect, and feeling like I was a much better player than I actually am. So Kudos to the Naga Elite for that. After all that's the point of expensive gear isn't it? I would also like to comment on the features that I like about the product above and beyond the 12 side buttons. First I like that the mouse can be used wired or wireless. I need a wireless mouse for some projects. Other times I need the mouse to run for 18 hours at a time without worrying about a recharge (i.e. raiding). Also, I like the three different size attachments. They all have their different feel. I found that they are not all about hand size. They are more about personal preference. I still haven't decided on which one I'm going to use long term. I keep changing my mind, but having the different options is nice. The two buttons above the mouse wheel, as other reviewers have mentioned, are not functional for quick skills, but they do in pinch for things like bringing up your inventory or a world map, which I like. Also, the mouse wheel itself is solid and functional. It is no doubt a high quality piece of hardware. Here's the bad: The Synapse driver for the mouse sucks! After installing Synapse and using it for a day or so I was ready to return the mouse. I became desperate and began looking for a solution. If you've read the other reviews of the Naga Elite I'm sure you have read about Synapse. If not read on and you will. You will see that Razer has all kinds of excuses and self serving reasons for Synapse, but, personally I disagree with them all. I hated it! I'm not going to go into detail, it's all been covered before. Let's just say that after using the product I agree with ALL the other negative reviews about Synapse. But do not fear. For the moment there is a solution. After much searching online I found a link to the old Naga driver. It's actually on the Razer website, but they won't tell you about it. I uninstalled Synapse and I installed the Naga Elite Driver v3.03. From that point on my disgust of Razer products was alleviated for the time. I decided not to return the mouse and have been happy with it so far. Amazon won't let me put the link in my review. But if you Google Razer Naga Elite Driver v3.03 a link should come up. Choose the one on the Razer website. Remember that you will need to totally uninstall Synapse and then Install the Driver v3.03. Otherwise Synapse will still mess with the mouse. So, in conclusion: As long as the v3.03 driver or better is available on the Razer website I think that this product rocks. If the v3.03 driver was not available I WOULD NOT BUY THIS MOUSE! Synapse turns an otherwise great mouse in to crap. That is why I'm giving the Razer Naga Elite 4 stars.

A tip for the 10-12 buttons, and a great mouse! (Edited for 5 months later)
I actually just got this mouse today, but I wanted to go ahead and write a review to help people who have a problem pressing the 10-12 buttons: using the end of your proximal phalanx / the middle of your thumb seems to work just fine; basically just straighten your thumb out instead of trying to curl your distal phalanx / thumb tip all the way down there. It does feel a little strange at first, and pressing the 10 button has the side of my thumb against the mouse pad; yet in the end, it feels more natural that way and is actually faster -perhaps even how it was designed to be used. Also, my first blush experience of this mouse is very positive. I had been using a Microsoft explorer wireless mouse for a long time (model 1362, which I also thoroughly enjoy), and those are about as big as mice get, so the Naga actually feels a little small to me. Also, I think it is going to take some time to get used to pressing those buttons without bumping my mouse cursor all over the place (letting your hand push down on the mouse seems to do the trick, when one remembers to do that ha!). However, both of these issues don't seem so bad, and I'm sure I'll get used to it and build the muscle memory. Otherwise, it is everything you'd expect out of a gaming mouse: smooth control, comfortable feel, very responsive, great customization through the software, etc. My only complains are small ones and probably not too common: being required to track down the driver was a tad of a bummer (probably because I'm lazy) and the manager software wouldn't recognize the Naga, so I had to install the legacy driver (which works just fine, and to be fair I didn't put too much work into trying to figure it out with the legacy link right there... and did I mention I'm lazy?). And while I do appreciate the "rad" multi-tiered packaging, I had the unfortunate thought of how many dollars could have been saved from something a little more sober, ha! Since I just got this mouse, I'll be sure to update if anything changes after the honeymoon phase, but so far I'm very happy with it! [EDIT -- July 28, 2013] This mouse is still going as well as it was new. For most things I only use the first 4-6 buttons and wonder if the six button Naga might have been a better purchase, but I have played a few games where the full twelve have been nice so I don't really regret my choice. I still use the trick above about using the base of my thumb instead of trying to curl the tip all the way down, but realize for quite a while I didn't "trust" where my thumb was which meant I was having delayed response anyway... The cursor instability also seemed to fix itself without any special effort on my part. Also, I mentioned how much I enjoy wireless, but I must say I almost never unplug it! The USB cord's sheath is woven, flexible, and almost never seems to catch on anything; I don't even notice it. While I still enjoy the convenience of wireless, if the wired Naga has the same cord, I may have opted for that one! My only complaint now is that it is difficult to keep clean on the bottom. I live in a old an moderately cluttered space, so it somewhat dusty (house pets don't help), and while the edges around the pads on the bottom and the optical aperture don't seem to catch a bunch of it, what they do catch they hold on to for dear life! Still, small complaint overall and if that is the best I can do, well, it deserves to keep those five stars!

BUYER BEWARE! Keep a back up mouse on hand!
I was skeptical of all the bad reviews about this product and wrote them off as just bad luck. Now, after not even a full month of having this mouse, the buttons no longer function. I have really enjoyed the mouse, as well as the Razer Nostromo and Black Widow keyboard. However, I ended up in the dreaded situation that many have posted on here...dealing with tech support. After the most recent patch was installed for the Synapse program that controls functionality of the mouse and then a quick reboot, my mouse buttons no longer work at all. Movement of the cursor has slowed to a crawl and I have to move the mouse across the entire desk, not just the pad, to get the cursor across the screen. I called tech support to fix the problem. I was told to check my email and follow the steps there and call back if it persisted. Luckily I am computer savy and knew how to follow them. For those of you that are not, good luck getting any problems with your product fixed. After many required uninstalls, reboots and re-installs of all kinds of stuff unrelated to the actual mouse I still had a broken mouse. I call them back and they still can't fix the problem. I ask to speak to a supervisor and am told one will call me back. Two days later no call back. One tech support person even told me that I would have to wait for the next patch to fix the issue. I also had them escalate me to the next tier support. I am thinking this is wonderful, maybe I can get a fix. Nope, they tell me the next tier has no phone support. They will email me back when they can. Two days later, still no email. I call back today and ask to speak to a manager, Walt tells me they have no managers. When I ask for a corporate number to file a complaint, Walt tells me corporate office has no phone numbers only an address on their site to email them. After getting the run around for two days I had enough and went to the BBB to contact corporate myself. I finally got in touch with someone to make things happen. Unfortunately, they tried to claim that it was just a coincidence that my mouse worked fine for a month and then failed to work after their latest patch. Which seems a bit far fetched to me. So which is it? They screwed up and released a bad patch that broke some of their mice, or they just have a horrible product that doesn't last more than a month? Apparently it seems to be both of these by the number of people having theirs break or arrive DOA. Had I not patched, the thing would still be working and that I am 99% sure of. In the end, now I have to send my mouse off for them to inspect personally and if I didn't have a backup mouse I would be up a creek without a paddle. Moral of the story... Razer has some really great products but horrendous tech support. My suggestion, if it's not broke, don't patch it! Or else you might be screwed over and have a hundred and thirteen dollar paper weight. Funny thing is, with all the money spent on this quality product, I could have bought a cheap Wal-mart one that would have lasted years and years over this one. I guess all the money you are paying is just going for fancy looks and flashy lights cause it's certainly not going to hiring a tech support staff to answer phones. Update: After speaking with support, I was notified that the majority of customers that have issues, have to pay for shipping themselves to even get it looked at, even if the product is less than 30 days of purchase. Apparently they have been receiving too many of them and don't want to pay for it anymore. If you get one of these and it's defective return it to Amazon and steer clear of Razer products. At least Amazon has great support and goes out of their way to help their customers. Update 2: After over a week of not having the mouse, I finally get a package back. To my shock, I find not the brand new mouse that I purchased from Amazon but instead, a white box labeled Refurbished on it and inside a bubble wrap bag with all the parts just thrown in together. There was no plastic tape on any of the parts to protect them from scratches. After inspecting the mouse, it was not the same serial number as mine. It had dirt under the left mouse button and there was visible signs of long term usage by the scratches and wear on the pads along the bottom of the mouse, not to mention scratches and scuffs on the tops and sides of the mouse. I was quoted as being sent a "new" mouse if mine could not be fixed. I am not sure what their definition of "new" is but this certainly is nothing close to that. After calling back, the company told me this is all they have to offer customers who send in products for repairs. They can't even issue me a refund because I didn't purchase it from them, but from Amazon. Had I know this is the crap this company would have pulled on me, I would have shipped the defective product back to Amazon where I could have gotten a brand new, sealed in the box replacement. So now it will be two weeks that I am without the mouse I purchased because I have to ship this one all the way back across the country and wait again for god knows what they are going to send me next.

No words...
To describe how awesome this mouse is. I am a World of Warcraft player (Haven't actually been player for very long yet, but love it!), but I am not new to the MMO genre. When I first plugged this mouse in and started using it, my first thought was pretty much "Where have you been all my life?". During PvE and questing, this mouse makes for quickly executed and near flawless rotations. Everything is within easy reach of my thumb, and takes the doubt out of which hotkey you are hitting. It is logically set up so that the motion is almost intuitive when using the thumb grid, I didn't even use the trainer decals provided by the manufacturer. This mouse also really shines in PvP. It really takes a lot of the fumble out of executing even an irregular rotation, even under the increased pressure of Player vs. Player combat. For those of you familiar with World of Warcraft, I play a Subtlety Rogue, and when I started using this mouse, my DPS and Damage scores in Battlegrounds went through the roof. The mouse is also excellently built. The components are all build with quality and care, and when the battery is placed in the mouse, it gives it a very nice weight. EVERYTHING about this mouse is adjustable and customizable as well, so you can tailor it for any use you may have. Switching between wired and wireless mode are flawless, and though some people swear by a wired mouse for gaming, I see absolutely no significant difference between wired and wireless mode while playing. there is no lag, and I have NEVER had a command not register. The dock that the mouse comes with for charging is also its wireless receiver, so you don't have to worry about three separate components. The dock has a hefty weight to it, so I am never worried about knocking the mouse over while it is recharging, and it also magnetically connects to the mouse, for added security. The only complaint I have about the mouses manufacture is barely worth mentioning, but sometimes pushing the buttons on the thumb grid can fill a bit "grindy" but I rarely notice it. The mouse is very aesthetically pleasing with it's combination of matte and gloss finish and backlit buttons with color change options. It is low profile and not gaudy like some other gaming mouses, although it still stands out as a different kind of peripheral. A huge plus for me is that the mouse is also EASY TO CLEAN!! I wash my hands regularly and don't eat at my computer, but I am a huge stickler for a clean computer and peripherals. This mouse, with it's ergonomic contours and few crevices and seems stays very clean on it's own and is extremely easy to just wipe down with a dry cloth. Also worth mentioning is when paired with a Razer Goliathus low friction mousepad, the thing practically glides on its own! All in all this is a solid and worthwhile gaming peripheral, well worth the money for any regular MMO player.
