Although the vent is designed to fit doors as thin as 33 mm, the supplied screws were too long for use on my 35 mm thick door. Other than that, the vent has a flange large enough to cover minor errors in the hole and seems sturdy enough. My first one did not survive shipping in the plastic shipping bag, though. The replacement was shipped in a box.

A plumber informed us that we needed to vent the door for the closet containing the gas water heater. Since it is a hollow door this is the only real solution we could find. It installed nicely using a tape measure, straightedge, drill, scroll saw and Phillips screwdriver. As others have suggested, it is best to apply painter’s tape to both sides of the door to keep the saw from chipping the surface and to grind the screws about 1/4” shorter to prevent them from poking through the other side.As others have also noted there seems to be continued problems with shipment. The initial set we received appeared to have been slid across a gravel floor breaking off a corner before it was boxed up for shipment. The replacements, however, arrived in perfect condition.

Very easy to install and looks good....the first one had a broken bent corner in the shrink wrap but Amazon replaced it. The material does not appear that it would break easy.

The media could not be loaded. Good product and well made and looks good but my only complaint is what I also read in other reviews is the screws that come with the vent are a little to long for most interior doors and my doors are 1-1/4" thick and I tried using the supplied screws at first and if I didn't watch as I was screwing in the first screw it would have patrude through the other side so I had to find some shorter screws and after doing so everything went well and they look great and will do the job so if you do purchase these vents you need to measure your door first and see if you need to replace the supplied screws with shorter ones.

They look great. Are a good size for my 36 inch door. It is a easy installation. I cut the whole, made sure it was square and off we went. The quality is good and a great value for my money. I hope it will solve the venting and air distribution for my house.

One came broke

It looks like the product (or their replacement, rather) is just what we need but 4 of the 7 of them were broken during shipping. (Rated at 1 star)Update: The replacement order arrived promptly, however, 2 of the 7 replacement grills also had corners broken. One I glued back on, the corner for the other was missing entirely. I probably should have sent this order back, too, but didn't seem worth it for the little damage and I need to get going on the project.In my opinion, these really need to be packed better for shipping. A little bubble wrap would go a long ways toward preventing the sort of damage I saw on my two orders. (Rating upgraded to 3 stars)
