Is this BPA and toxin free plastic?

How hard are these to squeeze?

They are cute and not hard to squeeze, but they do not have a tight grip. I have found that they work best with items like big cotton balls and big pompoms Their grip is not refined enough to pick up a wide variety of items and they do not pick up small things well. They do not open wide enough to pick up a big item like a one inch block.

Could I use these to remove clover from flower pots without squeezing the stem to break it?

I have never used the tweezers in this capacity but I can say that they are not sharp in any way. I believe if you moderate the pressure used to squeeze the stem and pull upward you can eliminate the possibility of breakage. Perhaps trial them by pulling some blades of grass before hand and see what happens.
