Combat Max Roach Killing Gel, Indoor and Outdoor Use, 1 Syringe, 2.1 Oz

Can't say enough good stuff about this good stuff. I live in the south of France and over the years more and more German roaches (apparently the worst kind) had been appearing, it went from a few a year to a few a day to over 50 a day! I have 5 cats (whoever says cats keep them away is wrong....or mine are lazy!) and didn't want to put a poison down as I worried about it poisoning them. I knew I could put it in places where they wouldn't go but I worried if they ate a poisoned roach it could harm them. So I researched and tried many natural ideas, catnip and bay leaves to keep them away, they walked over them, condensed sweet milk mixed with baking soda, they walked right past the balls, sugar and bicarb they ate it but never found any dead ones! It got so bad eventually that I was killing more than 20 each time I went in the kitchen, they had moved into the bedrooms (nests under the bed, in my drawers, in my clothes!), lounge, bathroom....EVERYWHERE and if I dared to turn on the kitchen light in the middle of the night it was like something out of a horror movie with hundreds of them scattering for cover!! They were even crawling on me in my sleep to the point I started sleeping with the light on so I could splat them and felt like I was going to have a nervous breakdown! Enough was enough, I realised my splatting and hoovering them up was a losing battle. I didn't want to use a bomb either as I worried about me and the cats breathing it even after a day had passed so I spent ages looking into all the different poisons and their active ingredients. Most of them said poisonous and even lethal to animals even in small doses. Then I found Combat Source Kill Max and saw all the amazing reviews, hoped it would be good. I found out that the active ingredient, Fipronil, is the same as many of the treatments put on the back of a cat's or dog's neck to kill fleas and ticks but in a smaller quantity so I would worry less about the cats. I ordered it (3 tubes, they are huge, great value) and as soon as it arrived I got busy putting tiny blobs everywhere. I read it was best to put tiny blobs in lots of places and lines of it in cracks where they often run along. I did make sure that all the places were not accessible to my cats so in cupboards, on plug sockets, behind fridge, toaster, toilet, under sinks. I didn't put any in my bedrooms or lounge as I read it is better to coax them out of those areas into the kitchen and bathroom, so I thought I would see how it went. I was convinced I would be an unlucky one where it didn't work or that the reviews were all made up (you never know these days!) but oh my god I was amazed! That evening I kept checking the blobs and even with the lights on there were already roaches munching away on many of them, I couldn't believe it. They were like drug addicts getting a fix, even when I touched one it didn't run off just carried on eating! The next day (12 hours later, much faster than I expected) it was like Roach Armageddon, bodies everywhere, loads dead on the kitchen counters already and even more on their backs dying, unable to get up (I almost felt bad for them) so I squashed them knowing others would carry the poison back the the many nests. I cleared away the bodies on view so that my cats couldn't eat them and left the ones in cupboards to get eaten by other roaches and pass it through the system. Day 2 just as many dead and dying then the third day only a few, I could hardly believe it had worked so well. I understood how it worked and that it could take a few weeks or even months to get rid of a large infestation but after that first week I then only found maybe one or two a week, usually walking like it was drunk. I then decided to put a little blob just inside each bedroom to get the remaining ones in there, now that I knew it couldn't coax any from the kitchen as they were all dead. After 2 months I put all new poison blobs down (even though hadn't had more roaches) just to make sure and also decided to do all of the communal areas on each floor in my apartment block to stop any straying from outside (1 tube goes a long way and after doing all of this I still had only just finished the first tube). My concierge saw me and asked what I was doing, she said it was kind and the next day the bug man came and bombed all those areas too so that was a bonus. That was last November (2013) and is now May 2014, I have seen maybe one a month, if that, and couldn't be happier. It is such a relief and after so many years of hating them and dreading finding more of them I can now say it is a distant and horrible memory. I clean holiday apartments and have been putting a few blobs down in each, this stuff lasts for ages, even after it has dried and been down for months it still attracts and kills them. It has honestly made my life a happy one, thank you Combat, I would definitely say I would buy it again and again but here is hoping I never have to! :D

You get a large tube thats very easy to apply the gel to with. The gel itself is somewhat sticky so it will stay in place unless disturbed. It doesn't have any discernable smells that I can pick up. After applying to various areas around my house I have noticed a reduction in roaches in places where they were more common like the bathroom and kitchen areas. I think it's an effective product overall.

It works! Dealing with a German cockroach infestation in a very old building. Squeezed some of this into the cracks where I could see the roaches lingering - they would come up to it immediately and start eating it. Within 48 hours I had a dozen dead roaches on the floor. Love a clear result!

It works! We had cockroaches in our old home we had just purchased and it was about 1 a night. After seeing about 6 total, I had had it. I got this and put it behind my oven (where they most frequently came from). Within days there were no cockroaches whatsoever. I didn’t see a cockroach for 1-2 months. Now that it’s been about 2-3 months and the gel is gone, they are back to about 1 a night or every other night so I need to reapply. It didn’t get rid of them for good but if you keep up with the gel, you should be good to go!

This roach-killing gel is a decent option, but my experience has been a little 50/50. It does seem to attract roaches, and I like that the syringe makes it possible to apply the gel in small areas where you notice activity. My biggest complaint is that it can be messy to apply. The gel can be difficult to control, and it’s not always easy to place exactly where you want it without leaving a little mess behind. Overall, it’s convenient to have on hand and seems to work to some extent, but I think the application could definitely be improved. Decent product, but the messiness keeps it from being a 5-star product for me.

Pairing it with other roach control methods might be necessary. Final Thoughts: If you’re dealing with a moderate roach problem, this gel can help over time, but it’s not an overnight fix. It’s easy to use and effective in the long run, but be patient and use it alongside other pest control methods for the best results. A decent product, but not perfect.

Works Great for Roach Control This roach-killing gel is easy to apply and convenient to use in small areas where roaches tend to hide. It doesn’t take much product, and I like being able to place it in hard-to-reach spots. A practical option for helping keep roaches under control.

As of right now it's too soon to speak on how this product works. However, I'm pretty sure I used this product years ago at my mom's house. She had a leak underneath her fridge she didn't know about and all that moisture seeping into the wood and under the house attracted a lot of those large flying roaches that are known as "American Roaches." I remember putting this stuff out before and our roach problem going away. Now I'm in an apartment (in another State) and it's monsoon season out here in the desert. Between the humidity and heat these roaches are starting to come out of hiding. I'm pretty sure they're coming in through the air conditioning vent(s). Now, I want to say that it's just because it's that time of year and they're looking for water and food... But, when you live in an apartment, you never know how other people are living... And the way some of these people throw their trash outside on the ground and in the parking area you never know! ...and THEIR pest problems can become YOUR problem. I'm a clean person, and I don't live in a 'cluttered' house... and I have nothing that would attract roaches... And, yet, in the last week I've now seen three of these big bad boys on my walls near a particular air conditioning vent. So, I put some of this stuff up on the grill that covers the vent. Hopefully they will eat and not even come in here (cuz I'm tired of throwing chanklas) 😂. But, as backup, I also got roach baits and roach motels laid out. Still... only seeing three roaches and not a huge infestation (thank God!!)... you know if there's one roach, there's a hundred more SOMEWHERE... But, with that being said, living in an apartment, I'm going heavy duty with the arsenal because it's a large complex vs. a single-dwelling that could have a very large infestation for all I know. So, it's not like I'm treating just MY apartment; rather, ultimately hoping to rid the entire building of them. We get weekly pest control out here and we can even request that they spray around our personal unit... but, that's not going to do much good for the buggers that are living within the walls. Because I think I've used this product before, I'm pretty confident in saying I believe it works. I will try to remember to come back and update this review, but obviously it's going to take several weeks to know if what I'm doing is working. Or to know if they've actually been eating the bait. The only thing is, because I have also laid out those large plastic roach baits... It might be a little difficult to pinpoint whether it was this stuff or the roach baits that took care of the problem. Nonetheless I should at least be able to see if they've been eating it IF I've placed it in the right places. With that being said, you do get quite a bit of the product in this large caulk-like syringe (you could easily treat an entire house on one tube)... For it being big and a bit awkward to hold at some angles... the stuff comes out pretty easy. If it's not coming out easy you probably have a bad tube that's drying up... Because it should be a really soft gel-like substance (like cake icing you spell on top of a cake with).
