Great sprayer.....Just purchased my second one
I purchased this sprayer about a year ago, and just purchased a second one. I have multiple sprayers so I don't cross contaminate...i.e one for grass / all vegetation killer, one for weed killer in the grass, and one for my garden (bugs & etc). Anyway, after purchasing a year ago, this has been my # 1 sprayer and have it allocated to use for all vegetation killer....Can't afford "leakage" or to have anything drip out of the tip, because whatever the fluid touches, it kills. This sprayer doesn't leak anywhere and when you stop spraying, it stops immediately. In addition, it has many adjustments for various mists and etc.I also like that you can snap the wand on the side and it has a catch spot on the bottom. The pressure release valve is very high quality. The spray seals nicely and doesn't take much to pump it up.Consequently, I used much "cheaper" made sprayers for my other two applications....Weeds in the grass and bugs in my garden....Figured it wouldn't matter as much if they leaked and etc...or had pressure please. However, I came to the conclusion that this sprayer is SO MUCH better and not that much more expensive, I would gradually replace my other two sprayers with this model....One at a time. I plan on buying a third one next month, or having one for each application. Sure, I could really clean it out and etc, but so much easier to keep one dedicated for each task.Unless you want to pay $300+ for an elite model, this sprayer is the best price to quality ratio on the market.Highly recommend!

Great Spray for Concentrated Vinegar
It's a great quality sprayer and it handled 30% concreted vinegar just fine. All of the parts seem sturdy and I appreciate the pressure release valve so I do not get blasted in the face by the pressurized contents when I unscrew the handle. I also appreciate the carry harness was walking around the yard.

Excellent, but very difficult to distinguish between models when purchasing
Sprayer is excellent quality and met my short-term needs, although I probably purchased the wrong unit. I needed a sprayer for Oxylic Acid-based wood preparation. I did not realize the R200 (#190462) was for Turf and Agriculture spraying only until I read the manual. I did some research and thought that the R200F would have been a better choice ("Cleaning and Restoration Series", #190456), but after much research determined the R200F was the same as the R200 except the brass-tipped nozzle I received had been replaced by a plastic-tipped nozzle in the R200F, so I did not return the R200. Then the company that makes these came back to me and indicated that I should consider the unit designed to handle acids (#190449), but without information to tell me what the difference was. Both units claim "Viton seals", although gaskets are a different color in the pictures (brown in R200, green in "Acid" model). The R200 tolerated the acid and worked well for the small amount of spraying I did, and I washed it out well, so hopefully I can use it when I do my entire deck next year...

WELL BUILT.
Replacing an old worn-out sprayer from a company that quit making sprayers, I selected this one because Smith has an excellent name and reputation in the industry, the SALE price was very good (under $40 on sale), and the capacity was right. It arrived on time, well packaged. Looks to be sturdy and the multiple nozzles are a vast improvement over the cheap, standard "twist nozzles" that never seem to provide the exact type of spray needed. Replaceable Viton seals are a plus, but I don't think they will need changing very often.Only used a few times so far, but I think it will provide years of service. I would purchase again.

This feel like the sprayer end game until I get a backpack one or something
I started with one of the home depot brand sprayers - stay away from those. The inside pump thing stopped making pressure, so I decided to upgrade to a chapin, which I also got on here. It's a really great sprayer, I still have it and use it for things sometimes, but it doesn't have a release valve, which is OK but not ideal. Then I saw this bad boy - metal wand, other bits and bobs and do-dads... all for an affordable price. How could I resist? Well, spoiler alert - I couldn't, I bought it. And man am I happy with it. I have a rockscape yard that, despite the ground cover underneath, sprouts up little weeds and grass and stuff (it's 8 years old, what are ya gonna do), so I'm out killing those little boogers every couple of months through spring and summer, and this thing does a great job. The tip is super adjustable. It has a release valve. Everything is constructed really well. Every time I grab it, I think to myself, "I really am glad I have this thing." And it never disappoints. You can't put a price on that.

Make sure follow instructions on putting together
The sprayer is top-notch. I like everything about this sprayer. Contrary to some of the other reviews, this sprayer does NOT leak. You do need to follow the instructions and make sure installing the hoses you align the notch in the hose with the one in the pump. The same goes when installing the wand. Then just make sure you start screwing the hand pump in first in reverse to make sure the threads align and then just hand screw it on. Then just pump the tank up till you feel some pressure. There is a pressure release valve so you never have to worry about getting sprayed in the face with chemicals. The less liquid you have in the plastic tank the longer you will be able to spray before needing to pump again. I like only using 1 gallon of liquid in the tank and I never have to repump the tank before the tank is empty. The pump comes with 4 different nosels, one that is brass that I use all of the time, a foaming head, and then two more spraying nosels for spraying verticle, and the other for horizontal spraying. Like any other sprayer to make this last, PLEASE PLEASE wash out the container when finished using and spray water through the hoses and nosels to make sure they are clean. Also, make sure the pump and the seals get cleaned after each use. For most people, this is something you would normally do anyway. The pump should be stored with the pump off and the plastic container stored upside down. Never store pump with chemicals in it and Never Never store with pressure in the tank.If you take these precautions, this sprayer will last you a very long time.

Excellent pressure sprayer!
This is a great pressure sprayer. Really like the base which keeps it from tipping over! The selection of different nozzles is nice. Quality of sprayer wand is excellent. Extremely pleased with this Smith sprayer, had one prior that was almost 30 years old! So I stuck with the Smith brand!

Worth the extra cost, no question. Wish I had bought one of these 20 years ago.
Over the years I have probably bought good half dozen different sprayers, all less expensive than this brand. I wish I had just paid the extra on day-one and purchased this back then in the first place. I would have saved a lot of money (and frustration) over the years. This sprayer is just head and shoulders better than competitors' and not even comparable to the cheapies from China. Yes, more money, but wow, what a great tool. So good that I bought another so that I have one for spraying weeds and the other for spraying fertilizer. Highly recommended.

Tough, almost overbuilt
This is about three steps up from your everyday big box bought sprayer. And I think that it is well worth it. Everything about it seems designed for reliability.
User
Works well !
Best sprayer that I have owned.
User
Used twice, worked well
Worked well, seems sturdy, pricier than other options available, though I am expecting this to last for several years. I believe if the top of the pump/lock mechanism had more metal components, it may last longer, time will tell. Believe cleaning after each use will make these pumps last longer

Works good
Holds up to multiple person abuse daily for the past 6 months at a horse rescue. The added plastic base/tray (that holds the wand off the ground) is the reason I purchased due to staff dragging and setting the sprayer down on concrete and stone in which puts tiny holes in other types and this one has held up great. Could be cheaper but a good product overall. Recommended
