I do not post reviews on products unless they impress me. I have to say that i went from a Harbor Freight 2hp dust collector to this. On my Old Collector I added a Winn filter and also devised a flapper system to knock off the dust from inside the filter. I could sand with a drum sander (jet 16-32 drum sander) for about 1.5 hours then have to remove the dust from the filter because there was no suction anymore. The jet JCDC-3 Dust collector has twice the suction with twice the distance from the collector. I have a 4" pipe that runs a total of 18' from the collector to the sander, wye off to 3 other stations for another 15' of pipe. I can have all the stations gates open and still have enough suction for the sander. With doing all of this sanding, i would say that at least 95% of all the dust is trapped in the drum. The filter has a bag and after dumping the drum( full of mostly sanding dust) has about 4 to 6 cups worth of dust in it. The only issue that i can come up with is the battery compartment for the remote allows the batteries to move around some and could not make good contact to power the remote. This has only happened once to me. the remote has good range and does work through a 8" wall. If you are tired of dust collector problems then this is worth the money. This collector is not cheep. My collector runs about 5 hours a day. The noise level is not bad.

Works as advertised!
Delivered ahead of time (after I made phone call); well packed in styrofoam so zero damage; instructions clear enough & fully assembled in 4 hrs without rushing (used loader on my tractor to lift blower), all parts fit, nothing missing. Started up and worked perfectly with my 20" Jet planer--no dust at all. Another key feature for me was 66 gal drum for chips as I plane a lot of slabs. Finally, price at $ 1760 was lowest by far!! Looked to be just a one day sale.

I got this dust collector, it looks nice but unfortunately had not turned on because the poor descriptions the unit it needs to connected to 230v outlet and my shop has 220 so I need to hired an electrician, and had been a pain to find an electrician who wants to do just that,I recommend the seller to put more details on the power. Because not everyone know to look for the outlet or the power you may not have available in your shop.Instructions are bad really bad .

Missing parts and bad customer service
Can’t tell if this machine works well. It was delivered through Amazon missing the second box. I didn’t know it was missing parts until I had worked a bit into the assembly process. Jet customer service is really bad-they are very rude and sound like they don’t like their jobs. They deferred me back to Amazon and the shipping company, but weren’t able to tell me what ships in the second box of this large shipment. I’m currently dealing with the shipping company, but have a feeling I am going to be sol. It really stinks having this $2000 dust collector sitting in my workshop collecting dust.

Poor instructions but product does as one expect from online videos
Given the cost of the unit very unimpressed with assembly instructions. Wasn't hard to figure out but there are no pictures to follow let allone rather brief instruction steps like assembly X, no description of what bolts, or orientation of the parts. Jet needs to hire a technical writer that has actual seen the machine apparently.

No problems here. Makes woodworking fun.
Not sure what happened on the negative reviews. It is a shame that this fine tool is getting docked by some unexplainable bad luck. I received mine complete and perfect...drop shipped freight from WMH. The larger of two boxes had some damage on the outside but the item was safe inside. It is packaged incredibly well (the packaging was obviously engineered).Been using it since January 2017 and it works like its supposed to, and infinitely better than my old single-stage 2 hp with canister filter. I wish it had a sub-micron filter but it is what it is, and what I paid for. Maybe Jet can come up with a HEPA upgrade someday. Although, the unit seems to have good fine dust separation, very small particles still (wood flour) make it to filter bag...as with all cyclones. On the plus side the unit is surprisingly quite and portable.

5hp model too which is nice. I know it might be a little too ...
Had a 1.5hp Jet bag dust collector behind 12' of 4" PVC with various flex hose lengths ranging from 20' to 6" connecting to all my various machines. The 1.5hp collector struggled to collect from a single machine even with all the blast gates isolating that single tool. The first time I fired this guy up I did so with all the blast gates open and you could hear all the dust that was in my setup rattling down the pipes. The amount of suction this tool delivers is incredible. It is not much louder that the 1.5hp model too which is nice. I know it might be a little too early to offer up a 5 star rating as this is the first week but this tool has allowed me to expand my dust collecting efforts beyond my expectations.

out of the box
Like many of you this purchase represents an upgrade from a smaller unit that you have outgrown. To date I await my electrician to give me 240v power to fire this puppy up. My unit arrived with hardware missing, a bent frame coupling between the main power unit and the cyclone connection to the collection barrel, and totally worthless hose clamps. I wonder why Jet would build a beautiful functional unit and then cheap it with vital components. I am hoping all ends well, but at this time it is a big ?
