Super easy jar opening.
Just delivered 30 minutes ago and I couldn't wait to write this review. I've been battling a pickle jar for 3 days. Sweet gerkin the pickle is mine! I can understand why some people say it doesn't work at all because you gotta figure out how it works. The lid grasping jaws don't go under the lid, their gripping teeth go into the side of the lid. As soon as I figured that out the lid was off with very little effort at all. I'm in my 60's and over my lifetime I've abused my hands so opening jars is getting more difficult with each passing month. So glad I bought this and took a few minutes to figure it out. Well built, easy to use, and I can't think of a reason I would even have to worry about cleaning it. Time to have another pickle!

Great bottle and jar opener
This was a great addition to my utensils. Itโs a great help when you start to lose strength to open jars. It is easy to use and a valuable product , and you donโt have to call for help to open anything!

Wonโt be without
Iโm disabled and have a horrible time opening water bottles. This helps better than those rubber horseshoe shaped tools. Those always slip on me. This one takes a little getting used to. If you find it slips, just open it back up just a little, adjust the teeth closer to the cap, and hold the โtriggerโ again. I find it very sturdy. I keep it in my bottle holder on my wheelchair. I havenโt used it on anything besides water bottles. But it opens wide enough to open mayo jars. Before finding this I was using adjustable pliers.

This is a waste of metal and not worthy of anyone's attention
This device in photographs and in general concept is convincing: finally a tool which allows a person to solidly grip a lid and twist it off. This year I purchased this and a different kind of tool and both failed miserably to do what was expected. I should have paid greater attention to the size and some of the details and maybe, just maybe, I wouldn't have wasted my money on this. The jar grip. This is a toothed rim which may work to bite into a plastic jar lid of a certain size. I am not completely sure what it is meant to work with. All I know is that it won't grip any lid I work with. What I thought I saw was a grip made of rubber of great enough width that when compressed against a circular lid on both sides would hang on while the lid was loosened. It is not there. The grip is useless. The lock. This is handle that looks like it locks down and keeps the grip tight while you then move the overall device anti-clockwise (or to the left). This doesn't lock anything. It engages with a toothed surface but does not stay engaged. You can't keep pushing this down to keep the grip while also attempting to rotate the entire device. Instead I was expecting more of a vice-grip sort of approach that allows the grip to be tightened and locked in place. That is what I thought I saw in the pictures. It is not so in reality. The length. I really wanted this for lids which have a diameter of more than a few inches. They are tough to loosen. You need the length to be at least twice the expected maximum jar diameter to get the leverage needed to twist off the lid. The key element to making this dislodge difficult seals is the leverage. This device is too small to accomodate anything but the smallest lids. In short, this device was meant to look like something that should work and fails miserably.

Not the best.
The opener is passable, but it is cheaply made. It works for my arthritic hands just adequately.

Works well on all sizes of containers in my kitchen - good value
works well with small to large jars, including pickles, spaghetti-sized. And small--water bottle lid sized. Small profile so it doesn't take up more space than a spoon would in your drawer. Haven't washed it yet-- don't know if rusting is an issue or not.

Great accessibility tool
For an accessibility tool for those with grip/hand issues, and even just opening stubborn bottles and jars, I love this product. I bought it for someone that had neuropathy and therefore sometimes experiences hand pain and grip issues. He's used it multiple times and is very happy with being able to open things on his own. I had trouble opening a syrup bottle on my own(I don't have any mobility trouble) and it made it so easy to open it. Definitely recommend!

**It Was the Jars, Not the Openers**
I wanted to update my earlier review because I don't think it was fair to the product. I had purchased three different jar openers and thought they weren't working. It turns out the problem wasn't the openers at allโit was a batch of relish jars I bought that had incredibly tight lids. Once I tried the openers on other jars, they worked much better. I wanted to correct my previous impression and give credit where it's due. If you're having trouble with one especially stubborn jar, it may be the jar itself rather than the opener.
