Love the idea - the baster gets too hot too quickly
I really like this baster. Originally purchased a plastic one and had the tip melt because the pan and hamburger grease was too hot. Thought to buy the steel one for a 'no-melting' situation and it is working beautifully. I didn't give it 5 stars because the baster got so hot so fast and when the rubber doo-hickie released itself from the baster and I tried to catch it before it hit the floor - I burned my hand with the silver part - not the grease itself. I'll keep it and be more careful when sucking up the grease to not angle it so that it doesn't create the separation.

After using this baster, I have no doubt this is the best baster I have ever used.
