H exagons always catch my eye.
Hexagons are my favorite shape...if a person has a favorite shape. It seems I see hexie shapes used in most commercial buildings, in logos, on labels throughout the grocery store aisles. Hexies are part of our lives so why not use this predominant shape in quilting also? This book is the best quilt book for explaining angles and measuring of angles in hexies available today. I recommend this book to be on every quilters table.

and More
Breaks down a hexagon into a variety of shapes to aide in creating more than a hexagon quilt. Shows layout for cutting, number of pieces/block, calculation for shape dimensions, templates to be traced onto plastic, etc. Kelly was correct when she included 'and More'. I would have liked to see grids for designing your own quilt, but there are so many possibilities with these shapes that the photos ignite the imagination. Originally bought for equilateral triangle and hexagon ideas but got so much more. Great book.

Great Book!!!
I have been a big fan of 60 degree hexagons, diamonds and triangles for most of my quilting life. While I have mastered a lot of the techniques, this book has opened a new array of possibilities. Thank you Ms. Ashton for putting out this great reference for those of us who are not math savvy. The book did arrive damaged, thanks to UPS, but it is still readable and I would not let it go long enough to replace it.

Good instructions on how to make the shapes
Good instructions on how to make the shapes. Lots of ideas for blocks. Great for people who like to make their own designs which is what I like. This is not a project book, but a springboard for creating blocks. You can either hand or machine piece the shapes.

I bought this book at the same time I bought Hexagon Happenings. Hexagons, Diamonds, Triangles and More is heavy on diagrams of the various patterns made from hexagons, diamonds, triangles and light on pictures of actual quilts but I was inspired and intriqued with the variety of patterns included. I think the two books compliment each other well.

I was very pleased that there is so much information in this book with very clear diagrams. I have it on my ipad, kindlefire, and kindle app on my pc so that I can refer to it no matter where I am. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in using these shapes in their quilting.
