Amazing fluid head tripod for the price
Benro has one of the most affordable and efficient line of tripods and monopods. I bought the s2 monopod from Benro earlier in the month and fell in love with their product. After this purchase I decided to sell my old clunky Manfrotto 516 fluid head and replace it with the Benro S6 (knowing I would be giving up adjustable panning) Pros: The Benro is built great, the s6 head handles my slider, FF rig, and DSLR all just fine. The tripod is very light weight, but still sturdy when locked down, the tripod has a great bag that is easy to pack up and take the tripod out of. This is important for me, because i do a lot of run and gun shooting. The tilt is adjustable two ways - regular fluid drag and also by the spring that can be set in 4 positions off(1), 2, 3, 4 this function is very helpful for people who shoot with rigs. The level on the head had an LED light, and the unit comes with one extra battery for the LED light. The head also has a compass - this is a useful feature for people who do wilderness shoots I imagine. The tripod extends out at least 7feet. The only con: The panning is not adjustable. I recommend this tripod to anyone who is on a budget and is looking for manfrotto quality!

very nice, solid, strong
I was about to purchase the Miller Air (which, even after not getting it, still looks amazing). However, I just had emotional problems with spending that much on a tripod, as I am not a full time professional video guy. I have another full time day job. But I get enough gigs to justify me getting something better than the Ravelli, which all of us newbies get here off amazon. I already have a nice travel pod (sirui) and needed something better for long events, wedding, interviews with all my rig rigged up etc) So, I found the Benro brought up in discussion and forums. After comparing it to the Miller (same weight, size etc) and the glowing reviews, I decided I'd get this instead of the Miller. I just got it yesterday, so obviously I can't speak to the longevity of this product. However, first impressions are good. Solid build, it feels great. it works perfectly. everything is rock solid. nothing to complain about. i love how the head screws off, so you can use the legs or head with anything else. I like how fluid and smooth and head is. I like how long and sturdy the legs are. I don't like the blue color. i wish is was a boring black/grey, and i wish it shipped with dings and marks and scratches, so i'd look like a hard core professional and not a newb who buys mid grade tripods.

Center riser comes out
They got pretty close to a good tripod with this one. I don't know why designers don't go the extra mile and build a great one. The center post which mounts the head came out while I was adjusting it. Difficult to get back in, and it nearly cost me dropping my camera (Panasonic DVX200). It looks like it may be missing a screw-in weight hanger that would keep it from coming out. When the legs are fully extended the tripod is too tall for me to use in a usual fashion. Great to have the height when needed, but most of the time I have to guess how far to put out the legs, then level the tripod. I can just extend one section of legs and use the center riser post, but it's not as steady, and that's when it lifted out of the tripod and endangered my camera. The collar to loosen the riser post is unlike anything I've used before, and takes a little getting used to. The adjustment clamp screw on the mount itself is, like nearly all I've used on any tripod, interfered with by the mounting plate. Seems like this could be engineered better. The ball joint which lets you level the head is not "normal" to me either, but may be a good thing once I'm used to it. It's a little heavy, not bad for aluminum. Top-heavy with the head that comes with it. The bag is nice, though the zipper is on the bottom so it lies on the ground, which you hope isn't muddy or sandy. The extension handle on the head is a little fussy too, but I can see it will be handy for slow pans when I need it. I'll have to say it's a good value. Rather it was all black, or black and silver instead of blue. -UPDATE! I called the manufacturer and they immediately sent a replacement weight hook/cap for the bottom of the center column, as well as a replacement bushing. They directed me to a video demonstrating replacing the bushing. OK, I'm ready to go again. Because of the price, I'll bump this up to a 4-star. Not a perfect tripod, but at this price it's a very good value.

A Great Tripod for Video Work
This tripod has worked like a dream for my video work. It's very attractive, too. I love the leveling tools and swivel head; I went for a long time with a more cumbersome tripod and have felt like working with this tripod has been paradise by comparison. It sets up quickly and easily and doesn't get in the way of my process. the adjustable handle angle is really nice and the movement controls that allow adjustment of the amount of tension on pans and swivels makes it possible to get really clean motion with the desired effect for video work. It's a very sturdy, yet lightweight enough tripod for carting around during shooting. The canvas bag is attractive and fits the tripod with ease. For the price it is an incredible value. I wish I had bought it long ago. A good tripod can really make shooting photos and videos much more enjoyable. If you are on a relative budget, I recommend this tripod as it is way more affordable than most other professional level tripods and will make a huge difference to your process and results.

Legs failed
I've had this tripod for less than a year and it has already broken on me. I was shooting an event today and all of the sudden 2 of the legs started to retract. It ruined my shot and i had to hold the tripod up on one leg or the rest of the event. Other than that its been a great tripod. I have taken great care of the tripod and it doesn't even have a scratch on it.

BEST Tripod for under $300 (YT:273Rodriguez)
This overall camera tripod is a beast and it is the best tripod I have seen that is right under the professional high end tripods. The quality is amazing, durable, comfortable (grips), and light weight. At first it is a little heavy, but you get used to it the more you use it. I love the versatility the product has to offer and how customizable it is performance wise. I can make easy panning and tilting shots with how smooth and fluid the tripod is. Overall SUPPER happy with my purchase, worth all the money. This tripod with good care can last a long time!

Decent for the price- but altogether a very frustrating purchase
It seems great at first, and for the most part is- but it it has its problems. Make sure to tighten the legs with an allen wrench or monkey wrench- one of the legs went loose when I left it alone for 30 seconds and it slid down and toppled over, in turn smashing by 70-200 cannon lens :/ . Yea... so watch out for that. The other thing is that the pan and tilt start to get sticky/jerky after a couple months. It seems fluid at first but looses it for some reason. It's also really frustrating tightening the plate lock since the camera is often in the way of it- and it s very difficult to change it so that the lock turns just right when putting your plate/camera on. The good parts: it it is lightweight and has a bubble leveler with a total 360 degree adjustment lock so you can get it perfectly level. Plus you can raise it a full foot even after all your legs are at full extension.

So the legs are good, and what I was looking for however the ...
So the legs are good, and what I was looking for however the head is.....err....garbage. This is NOT even close to a real pro head in terms of fluid drag. NOT EVEN CLOSE. If you have a super small camera it is possibly ok, but if you are swining the real deal cine type rig you will be very angry mounting up and attempting to go for a ride. the build quality is fine but the actual "fluid" if you can call 2 plates rubbing aginst each other "fluid" drag is a complete joke like most low end heads. Who the other guys on here like this head is beyond me, it can only be if used with a sub 10lb camera that it could possibly be ok. I am going to try and find a cheapish head to replace this boat anchor with. sadly. as I had my hopes, but my fears have won this contest.

Très bon rapport qualité-prix
Très bon rapport qualité-prix, trépied robuste, tout fonctionne bien, très contente de mon achat. Je l'utilise aussi pour y poser un petit beamer dessus et pouvoir régler la hauteur etc.

A bargain I 'nearly' had..
I finished up by reluctantly returning it, although beautifully finished, lightweight and reasonably sturdy .. slight roughness on panning at one specific point gave me concern. Regretted almost immediately however when I noticed the price on Amazon had virtually doubled when I bought mine - leaving only 1 left in stock ... at well over £300!!

Great tripod, very lightweight and versatile! Took me ages to figure out the locking of the plate system. But once you know YES it's great lens!
