Our orange and white single-braincell cat was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. He's on medication for that, but periodically he goes through periods of weight loss when he needs his medication adjusted. During this time his appetite gets low, and he's overly picky about what he eats. We are already familiar with Inaba for their highly addictive Churu treats, so we gave this a try. It was one of the few things he would eat. Most of the chicken would be consumed, and he drinks all of the broth. We were quite pleased that this helps him get through those periods where he is adjusting to the new dosages. Cost for us isn't really an issue - what he wants he gets - but the ability to buy it in a box takes quite a bit of the sting out of the purchase. Just be aware that these are a supplement/side dish to regular feeding, you cannot feed a cat on these alone. In our case, for short-term use they cause no harm, and it's more important to get calories and hydration in him to counteract the rapid weight loss. Each package contains shredded white meat chicken and a broth. There's no objectionable smell either. The meat looks just like it does on the package. No issues with the quality of the food - this is good stuff. As for our cat? He's back to a healthy weight and constantly begging for food.

This has been very good to top off canned food, etc., to add more liquid to the cat's diet. It's the right size, as well, for a cat who doesn't eat a huge amount. So, some canned food and this over it has worked well.

Vet recommend. Healthier option for broth. I put sometimes my cats medicine in and he can't taste it! Sale price worth it compared to pet store or grocery store.

My cat absolutely loves this broth, especially the chicken-only version, and it’s been a great treat or topper for picky eating days. That said, I was shocked when the price jumped to $22 for the same 8-pack I’d been getting on subscription—more than double the cost of the chicken & tuna mix. I nearly canceled altogether until I saw the tuna combo option for $9, which made no sense, but was a huge savings for what seems like a nearly identical product. The quality is great, but the pricing model feels all over the place—worth it if you shop the right version.

Difficult to get all the chicken out of bottom of packet. Indoor cat doesn't care for it. Feral cats will eat almost anything. I usually try to add water to packet and shake to try and get what is stuck on bottom out.

Have two older cats who love this food. Because they’re older they have a problem chewing food. They love it and I’m happy they’re eating it

They have been given By the food industry in cat food. Excellent ratings. My cat only eats safe and excellent food with great nutrition. My cats love these. There is a lot of juice in there, and that is the part that they love. They eat most of the chicken shreds, but not all of them. I actually split one package between four cats! I have a diabetic cat who has to eat a little wet food when she gets her insulin. So this is perfect. The other cats get a little snack as well! They have a nice smell, not really strong or anything. All four of my cats like it a lot.

2 of my 4 kitties are addicted to this and ask for it every night. It helps with hydration as it is mostly water with some chicken shreds. At least AMZN still offers the 1.7oz version, whereas other big box stores only offer the 1.4oz version for considerably more $$. But this on subscribe & save, but watch the price fluctuations month to month. Load up whenever it's on sale.
