Brooklyn Botany Peppermint Essential Oil - Huge 4 Fl Oz

I recently purchased the Brooklyn Botany Peppermint Essential Oil, and I am beyond impressed with the quality! I also mixed a few drops with a carrier oil for a cooling muscle rub after the gym, and it worked wonders. The glass bottle feels premium, and the dropper makes it easy to dispense without making a mess. Additionally, I use this product in my shed to repel insects and rodents. I simply apply it to the floors of the shed after mixing it with water, and I never see insects or rodents in my shed. This product is animal-friendly and non-toxic. This is my third oI absolutely love this peppermint oil. I originally bought it to use in my home air filters, and it has made a huge difference in getting rid of lingering dog odors. The scent is fresh and clean without being overpowering, and it makes the whole house feel noticeably fresher. What I didn’t expect is how versatile it is. I’ve also used it in a diffuser for a quick refresh, and it’s great for that too—super crisp and energizing. Peppermint oil is also known for helping with things like headaches (just a little on the temples), keeping bugs away, and even giving a little boost of focus when you’re feeling sluggish. The bottle is a great size for the price, and the quality feels really high compared to others I’ve tried. Definitely a staple in my house now—will be repurchasing!

Find this brand to be stronger than others I’ve tried. Mixed with a little water in a spray bottle, helps keep bugs and spiders away near doorways outside. I place a few drops in trash can, both indoor and outdoor. I also place several drops around inside garage, not only smells good but it keeps the spiders out.

I researched non-toxic mosquito repellent and found a study that recommends peppermint oil suspended in a carrier oil. I tried a couple of drops in olive oil and applied lightly (to avoid greasy feel) and the peppermint aroma was fairly /strong. Remarkably it did the job...mosquitos remained at bay and only needed reapplication after a few hours. The mechanism is apparently connected to how peppermint disrupts the little buggers from locating humans via carbon dioxide. Now that's what I call research money well spent.

My determination for Brooklyn botany essential oils are they are very high-quality and have beautiful scents. They are perfect for lotions, sugar, scrubs, diffusers, and other type of skin care applications I would not pause their essential oil to make cold process soap. Essential oils battle with the lye in cold process soap and I’m not sure if these are strong enough to hold up in cold process soap. The basil essential oil is beautiful and nice and strong for cold process soap The spearmint is made for cold process soap. I think I’m gonna go ahead and keep it. I don’t want a strong spearmint scent in the blend. I’m going to make anyways. The peppermint oil is absolutely beautiful for my diffuser, but I already know much to weak for my cold process. I think they would be perfect for lotions, sugar, scrubs, or diffusers because you don’t want anyone’s eyes burning and tearing up! The lavender is stunning. Natural, sweet and fragrant. It smells like lavender flowers. But I concerned that it is too weak for my cold process soap. But perfect for a diffuser or lotion.

WOW!!! I added extra mint to this Rosemary Mint hair tonic for MIGRAINE HEADACHES. It’s amazing! I added 4 squirts (the amount the dropper sucks up, about 1 1/4”) to the bottle, shook it up and sprayed it on my scalp, by sectioning my hair. The cooling sensation is amazing, very long-lasting and really helps ease the pain. The scent of this peppermint essential oil is very strong, and does what it is intended to do. It is also an excellent flying insect/flying pest repellent.

Smells great. I dilute this with water and spray all around the house to deter spiders & Milipedes and it smells like a candy cane!

Strong enough to be effective

J’ai acheté l’huile essentielle de menthe poivrée pour dissuader les souris ou araignées d’entrer chez moi (j’en met sur une boule de coton et les dispersent alentour de la maison dehors et en dedans) mais au final je m’aperçois aussi de tous les bienfaits que ça a pour nous. Il ne faut vraiment pas en mettre beaucoup car ça sent très fort, quelques gouttes suffisent. Et la bouteille durera longtemps malgré qu’elle semble petite. Pour l’instant le compte-goutte fonctionne très bien après plusieurs utilisations. Par après j’ai aussi acheté l’huile essentielle de clou de girofle pour la même raison et ça sent tellement bon ! Au départ je ne l’achetais pas pour l’aromathérapie et autres bienfaits mais je découvre tout ça et j’en achèterai assurément encore d’autres sortes de la même compagnie ! (Juste ne pas utiliser si vous avez des animaux avant d’en avoir discuté avec votre vétérinaire). Mise à jour le 28 février 2026 : j’ai acheté l’huile essentielle de Lavande. Je ne connais pas encore tous ses bienfaits mais j’en met surtout pour prévenir l’arrivée des mites de vêtements. Donc quelques ouates imbibées dans le garde robe et ça devrait prévenir. Sinon j’en ai mis un peu partout pour sa bonne odeur par contre ça sent plus fort que prévu semblable à une odeur de parfum. Donc ne pas en mettre trop. Et comme d’habitude ne pas utiliser si vous avez des animaux ou en discuter avec votre vétérinaire avant l’utilisation. J’aime encore beaucoup cette marque !

I bought this peppermint oil mainly to use when I’m taking my walks in the forest, especially to help keep the mosquitoes away. It came in a nice glass bottle with a dropper, which fits securely and seals the bottle well. The dropper only fills about a third of the way, but honestly, that’s not a problem because this oil is really strong and you only need a little bit. A small amount goes a long way. I also really like using the peppermint oil when I get a headache. I love the fresh, strong peppermint smell, and it has become something I like to keep with me. I’m happy with this purchase and would definitely buy it again.

This is a decent peppermint oil. Over the years I've realized the peppermint oil smells a little bit chemically if it's actually strong. I used to buy another brand that I thought was way more pepperminty than all the other brands but then realized it's only like that because it's not as strong as the other one. The more you concentrate this the more you get a chemical smell to it. If you dilute this in any way whatsoever all the sudden it smells very pepperminty and loses a bit of that chemical smell. It's it's just the compounds in the it's a peppermint oil that eventually overpower the actual menthol flavor if highly concentrated. It still smells very minty if you use it at full strength but it's actually better if you water it down a little bit. It's a very nice topical for a joint pain. More of a distraction than anything like Tiger balm or any mentholated joint pain rub. Good stuff.
