I tend to temper my expectations for 'Basics' products, but these nesting melamine mixing bowls far exceeded what I'd hoped for, after I shattered the middle bowl of three plastic ones I'd been using for years before (carelessly knocked it onto a tile floor). The color and print style are quite attractive, enough so that these bowls wouldn't look out of place on a dining table. Most of all, I was surprised at how thick the plastic was, actually far better than my old, obviously brittle set. There's also a nice bit of outdent on the upper edge of the bowls, a short way down from the top on the outside, that make it easier to grip them, even with damp hands. The lids are all right, but I wouldn't say these are total-sealing (that is, don't expect them to hold if you slosh liquids inside too much), but they're certainly good for temporary fridge storage of a salad or whatever. I do like the fact that the entire set can be stacked all together, including lids if you attach each one to its associated bowl, but as far as I'm concerned, that makes it more difficult just to grab one out of the set and use it, so I've created a separate stack just for the lids. The review prompts suggest I comment on microwave safety. Well, I'll say right out that these are -not- recommended for microwave use. (It might even be why my old set of cheaper bowls went brittle on me.) I'd also suggest that certain staining or fatty foods could discolor or leave residue on the melamine, so it seems it's probably best not to use these bowls for that purpose. Overall though, I'm pleasantly surprised by this set and consider it a great value.

These are amazing! The size variety is perfect, and I love the grip on the bottom that keeps them in place on the counter and in the fridge. These have been a blessing with leftovers, mixing, etc and are a lot thicker than I expected. 10/10! These were a great addition to my kitchen.

Love the Bowls and love how they fit inside of each other. Definitely a space saver and the lids make it so nice to just plop a lid on leftovers or etc and stick in the fridge. Pretty and durable!

These bowls are gorgeous. Every one of them is well made and has no imperfections. They nestle nicely inside of one another with all of their lids, creating one big bowl that you can easily find a spot for, especially consider how beautiful they are. The rubbery grip at the bottom of each one keeps the bowls from sliding around while you use them and the lids are easy to take off and put on with one hand. Best of all, if you didn't know any better, you'd think you were looking at porcelain bowls. They're perfect. I wouldn't change a thing!

Not what I expected. All of the bowls are big; generously sized. The largest one could be used for kneading bread dough or a family size salad or a picnic buffet of potato salad or turkey drum sticks. These bowls are made of light weight melamine, so the big size doesn't really matter. I have a smaller 4-sizes bowl set made of glass and they are quite heavy. This set makes a very nice coordinated presentation at any party or family gatherings. And you can easily recognize your own bowls when it's time to go home. The decorations (hydrangeas) seem to be printed on and don't have the saturated, vibrant color seen in the ordering display picture. I was disappointed in this. Manufacturers are afraid of vibrant color, which is a shame because it just takes something exciting and dials it down. I took off one star for this. These bowls have built in safety features. Around the outside, a couple of inches down, on each of the bowls is a slim bump-out about the width of a straw to help keep a full bowl in hand. And on the bittom of each bowl is a non-slip, built in, skid resistant ring of a textured material. It's nice that it sits in its own channel, and not just glued to the surface. One thing people might consider are the lids. They do have some grip to them, but definitely not a tight-seal fit. These lids can be used when temporarily storing food, but the seal is absolutely not air-tight. Another is that I'm not sure how stain resistant these bowls are. I'm going to try some test patches on the outside bottoms for tomato and sugar beet staining. I like these bowls because they are light weight and melamine.(My mother had all sort of things in her kitchen made with melamine; handles, cups, cereal bowls, etc., so I'm comfortable with this maferial. I like these bowls because they nest well and are compact for storage, but will accommodate a bag of apples, potatoes, onions, or whatever, when preparing foods. I like these bowls because I know they will be an attractive, coordinated set of work horse kitchen utensils that are moderately priced and will provide and deliver years of good service.

I love my bowls. They so pretty and perfect for making family batches. The lids are the cherry on top. So long plastic wrap.

I rarely impulse shop, but when I saw this online, I had to buy it. This is one of the most satisfying purchases I have made in ages. The bowls arrived quickly and very well packed. They are sturdy, too. The graphics are gorgeous; if you love hydrangeas as I do, you will appreciate the artwork, subtle shades and generous coverage. The five bowls stack so well and come with well designed lids. Usually I pack away kitchen equipment, but not these bowls. They are situated right on my kitchen counter so that I can enjoy looking at them daily. This is an A+ item. Love it!

perfect for everything you'd want a handful of like nuts, chips or candy. Works for a big dollops of chip dip, guac, and alike. nice colour white and they do well in the dishwasher.
